Good replies - a larger / wider bait cast spool does not appear to be as critical for frogging as does with say a deep crank bait where you want a decent retrieve speed as soon as the lure hits the water .

Abu 5600C3.  It is the reel I use for punching, but it works with frogs also.

Quantum Accurist 7:1 with 60 lb Amazon something line.  7 1/2' heavy rod I was given with a broken handle.

It might be a Lews LFS after the 4th of July sales.  If it is, it will be replacing a Lews Tournament MB which I will repurpose for bladed jigs.

My frog reel is the Piscifun Phantom X ,  65lb braid on a 7 foot mh rod. Three years running  and performing like a champ .

All of my BCs are Daiwa with one exception and that's my frog rod.  It has an Abu Garcia Revo SX.  24lbs of drag and hurls a hollow frog a country mile on 65lb braid.

I have a Tatula CT with 65# braid, and a Tatula SV with 50# so I'll use what feels appropriate for where I'm fishing.

Daiwa Zillion HD (JDM) - this reel feels like it was built for frogging, nice big handle, built like a tank.

Metanium with 30lb suffix. No expert here, but anything over 30lb might be an overkill especially around here in MD. YMMV

22 Shimano Bantam XG  50 lb Sunline FX-2  Dobyns XP 736c FH.  I frog fish in heavy cover on Santee Cooper & this set up gets the job done.
