Super User tcbass Posted June 28, 2023 Super User Posted June 28, 2023 Hello, So I started a below thread on how I had doubled up Tacklewarehouse gift cards with a Memorial Day sale and saved a decent amount of money on my Minn Kota Ulterra a few years ago. Well, I will hopefully be getting a new boat next year and wondering if it is again a good idea to buy the gift cards at 15-20% discount and then waiting until the Memorial Day sale or any other sale with a decent amount off to purchase a new Ulterra or Talons. Does Tackle Warehouse have good prices? Are there other places that are cheaper and if so, where? Thanks in advance. Quote
Super User gim Posted June 28, 2023 Super User Posted June 28, 2023 I guess the issue with ordering such large items with high value like that is 1) damage in shipment, and 2) if there's a problem with the product, you'll have to ship it back. I would personally buy them locally even if they costed a little more. That way if there's an issue, I could take it there a lot more easily and conveniently. Same concept with batteries for me. 2 Quote
Mbirdsley Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 trolling motors as far as i know very rarely go on sale. i could be wrong though. We don’t have a lot of places that service trolling motors. ideally i would buy one from a place that also services them. knock on wood in 3 years i’ve never had an issue. if i do though i’m on my own as far as repair. Super User WRB Posted June 30, 2023 Super User Posted June 30, 2023 Well, Memorial is gone the new TW sale is 15% off for the 4th of July Independence Day?? Tom Quote
GReb Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Hodges marine for Minn Kota. K&K customs for power pole. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted June 30, 2023 Super User Posted June 30, 2023 I wouldn’t buy those kinds of items from any place that is farther away than I would drive. Too many things can go wrong and need repairs. My Ulterra has been back to the shop 3 times. I get repairs and quick turn around. 1 Quote

Nelson Delaney Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Give your local boat dealers a call. I find they will be cheaper as they aren’t advertising the price. Shipping trolling motors can be expensive & often times they arrive damaged. It’s a giant headache to go through a damage claim. Quote
