We picked what could off ourselves, then, like monkeys, we started picking them off each other.  It was nasty.

Next trip before you dress to leave, apply copious amount of Icy Hot to your arm pits, thighs and entire groin and genitalia.  That way when you hear the ticks cry out...... oooh owe, hot, hot hot, you’ll know you’ve been infested.

Try and wear light colored clothing if possible.  That way you can see the little buggers when they are crawling on you and pull them off before they find a way to the skin.

Lyme disease is no joke, my grandfather was one of the 1st recordable cases in the southeast in the late 70s and they had been trying to figure out what was wrong for years. Did a ton of nerve damage in his leg and hands. He would get to where he was feeling bad every couple years and they would give him another round of doxycycline and knock it back out.

I made a post a few days ago about how i use vinegar as a natural tick repellent, well 2 days ago i went kayaking so i figured i didnt need to put any on my clothes or shoes like i usually do when going fishing, because well im going to be in a kayak. well last night when laying down i found a very small tick embedded in my arm, now this was just from going around 20 feet from the truck to the boat launch... Be carefull out there people, use something to repell these land leeches even when not going through the jungle.
