Hi everybody! Looking for some info on a small boat to put in my truck bed while towing our pop up camper, growing up my dad had a bass hunter ex model I believe, it was an awesome little boat rock solid sadly it looks like bass hunter boats has gone out of business from my research. Wondering if I should go with a v hull somthing like the quest sportsman or stick with the pontoon style. Definitely wanting something easier to fish out of than a kayak and possibly be able to take our semi large goldendoodle along with us

Do you need to close the tailgate to haul the camper? If so what's your bed length?

Coleman crawdad and Pelican Bass raider comes to mind, owned both.

I should add a photo of my current setup with my diamondback truck cover and headache rack. Blue kayak is 10' and wife's fancy pink jackson that was a gift from her dad is just over 12' so I'd have no issues hauling a 12' or 14' boat up there

Why not use the roof of your camper?  In 1980 we had a Skamper popup with a 500 lb roof capacity, was easy to put our aluminum jon boat up there.  Was never a fan of those little bass hunter type bath tubs. Much prefered my aluminum jon boats !!

I thought about putting a rack on our pop up but seems like a waste of time considering I'd have to put it on the back of the truck anyhow to take it to the lake. Might as well just put it on the truck to begin with. Anywhere we camp we're over walking distance from the lake let alone dragging a 150lb boat and gear

Hard to beat the old Coleman Crawdad if you can find one…

I second this! Where I'm from, we all had a Crawdad or the Pelican version laying around for super shallow places that even jet rigs couldn't get to. I kind of wish that I hadn't sold my old Crawdad.
