Rechargable jump starter - recommendations?

I have a NOCO GB40 jump starter.  I’ve used it on cars, trucks, lawnmowers, quads, etc… but I needed it for my boat yesterday and it wouldn’t recognize that it was even hooked to a battery.  Starter battery is 1000 CA and 800 CCA.  My jump starter is rated at 12V, 1000 amp.

 

Anyone that has used one, please let me know what you would recommend.  I’d like to have one in my boat that actually works.

Not the issue.  In fact, the error light did come on, but I had it connected correctly.  However, I decided to change it just to make sure and it he light still came on.  So no matter how it was connected, it said to reverse the polarity.

 

I am going to reconnect it now that the battery is charged to see if the problem was that the battery was just too low.  And to top it all off, by down trim relay went out this afternoon.

There’s nothing wrong with the jump pack, you just needed to use the “manual override” setting.
 

Anytime a battery is below a certain voltage threshold, you need to put the pack into manual override to jump it.
 

If you don’t know how to do this, consult  the manual, or give a quick google. 
 

I have 6 different NOCO jump packs, and two NOCO chargers in my boat. I’ve had a few of them for 5-6 years. I’ve never had a single issue out of any of them, and I’ve used some of the packs HARD. Even for thing like supplying constant 12V (manual override mode) to trailer winches and other “off label” uses.

I’ve had my GB150 for 4 years and it has been flawless. Imho it’s the only brand I’d use. Like stated above read the manual and if you still don’t have any luck call NOCO.

I got one from Santa for xmas last December.  Haven't had to use it yet though.

Tried that.  Wouldn’t go into the manual override mode.

I’ve read it front to back.  No luck.  I’ll call NOCO next.

IIRC the manual says press the ! button for something like 3 seconds for manual over ride.   It seems more like 15 to 20 seconds when I use that.
