Does anyone know if EReplacementParts.com is legit for buying replacement parts for Abu? Abu actually has the site listed as an 'authorized dealer' for replacement parts.

On the other hand, a google search for the website has yielded mostly negative reviews and is said to be a scam and is not legit. Luckily, I have a tackle shop that is very close to me and is actually listed on the Abu site as an authorized dealer for replacement parts.

Should I just go through my local tackle shop? Has anyone dealt with buying replacement parts from EReplacementParts.com before? Good or bad experiences?

Always shop local if you can.

If something goes wrong, you can usually resolve it.

That is exactly what I was thinking.

I've never had a problem with them. Just make sure it's in stock, otherwise your whole order sits there until the out of stock item shows up. Used them also for lawnmower and refrigerator parts.

I have cancelled an order, tired of waiting on an out of stock item and then place another order minus that particular out of stock item. Easy to cancel an order and get a refund with a couple of clicks. I've used Paypal and credit cards......

Parts on ebay have gotten silly, to where sellers are parting out reels now.....

Maybe I'm the exception....jmho

@redmeansdistortion and I have both built reels from parts only, sourcing from a mix of Japan (Italy and UK) aftermarket upgrade parts, parts-bin spares, and stock new Abu parts from e-replacement parts.  Kind of a coup, they maintain a small supply of 1500/2500 CIAR side plates, if you want to greatly improve the value and function of your jewel.    If Abu has to fabricate you a new side plate, some things are worth waiting for.  E-replacement parts customer service is tops.

I see they also sell Shimano replacement parts too. Are they pretty reliable for Shimano too? Does anyone know if they are considered/listed as an 'authorized dealer' for Shimano?

How come no Daiwa? Is Daiwa too specialized/exclusive?

I use them for all kinds of stuff.  I have bought replacement parts for an old Abu 5000D, a GE dishwasher, and a Husqvarna lawnmower from them in the recent past.  And I've bought a lot of other parts off of them in the more distant past for various things.  They're totally legit, and often the only place to find parts for old, discontinued things.

I think the issue a lot of people have is they often can be difficult to navigate through their site to find the right part.  It's not terribly unusual to see a part listed as compatible for one model number, but if you look at the picture of the part, you can clearly see that it's not going to work.  And then dig a little deeper, and you'll find the right part, also listed under the same part name and model number.  So I try to stick with things that have pictures, so I can double check that the part I'm ordering is identical to the part I'm replacing.  And doing that, I've never had an issue.  But they clearly didn't spend a lot of money building a first-class website.

eReplacement Parts is definitely legit.  Like @bulldog1935 said above, we have both used them for our scratch-built reels.  One word of warning with them; to some it may matter and to others it may not.  They will substitute a compatible part if they don't have or cannot get the original, however, the photos of the parts they have on hand do reflect what you will receive.  What this means is something like a spool tension knob may be a different color than what originally came on your reel or they may sell a different handle although it isn't the original or even a 100% color match to what came on your reel.  Some parts are simply out of production, but they will certainly have something on hand to keep you fishing.

Funny, I just recently purchased a main drive gear and the nut for my 6500C3 that I boofed up trying to swap a power handle on it. I looked at ereplacement parts but they no longer had the nut available as it was discontinued for some reason. I ended up going through https://www.fishingreelparts.com/, a authorized dealer on the ABU site, they had both parts, good price and fast shipping, would not hesitate to order again through them if I were to need more parts. Ordered 6/23 and received it 6/26, I live in Virginia.
