Your product looks good, and it is in my want-to-spend price range. However, the next reel purchase I make will be a cranking reel. BUT, I dont a reel in the 5.X:1 range besides the Vision round reel, and that just looks like garbage (no offense). re you guys planning to make a slower reel?

Thanks for your recent e-mail. We do have a cranking reel with a 4.7 gear ratio in the works. It's part of the new Tournament Class reel/rod lineup we're developing with our BASS Elite Series pro staffers. This reel, and the rest of this new Pinnacle Tournament Class selection, will be unveiled at the next ICAST tackle trade show. It should be available at dealers in early spring of 2011. This reel is being designed to meet the exact specifications of cranking specialist and Bassmaster Classic champ, Paul Elias.

Good Fishing!

I also, would be interested to see this cranking reel.  I am using a 6.2:1 high speed bionic reel for my deep cranking, but it's just too much for shallow and medium cranks, most of the time.  I am becoming a big fan of pinnacle, every single day!  Keep it up!

Pinnacle1,

Do you want to let us in on what these new reels are going to be like?  What kind of materials are they going to be made of, what kind of bearing, how many are going to be in the line, about what are they going to cost?

Any information would be great!  I can't wait to see these things and fish with one.  The cheaper reels you all make are so awesome, I can't wait to get my hands on a tournament series reel from you guys!  Is there going to be one with a flippin' switch?  That would be awesome!!!

Even if there is a response, I am pretty sure, it would be out of his contractual obligation to let us in, on a future line of reel.  That being said, I am sure they are going to be aluminum, and light.  If they make a cranking reel with a flipping switch, it would go outside of their boundaries as a cranking reel.  That just wouldn't make any sense.  But a flipping model reel, also would be nice.

Sorry guys...can't reveal any more about the proprietary construction of the new reels we have in the works.  Just know they'll be sleek, super strong and smoooooooth.  As far as a new top-of-the-line reel with a flipping switch goes, let's just say you'll be very pleased.

Round reels get sold short too often IMO. There are several posts in another thread from folks that have great success with them, especially for cranks.

Wickyman,

I know that is would make no sense to make a cranking reel with a flipping switch...Pinnacle1 said that there was going to be a new Tournament Class in the works, which made me think that there was going to be more than one reel being made.  ;)

As for making one with a flipping switch, that would be wonderful.  I am rrelly looking for a good reel for flipping and pitching.  Right now I am using the Pinnacle Slyder reel, it is working just fine, but I am worried about how everything is going to be after I reel in a few fish that weigh 3lbs and then have 15lbs of grass, weeds, and timber wrapped around it.

I am not worried too much, I would just really like a reel that is made for the job, that's all.

Hope everything goes super smooth with the development of this new line and you guys can release them early!

With the introduction of the new line, what is going to happen to the current lineup??  Such models as the Alyssa XLT, the Vision, and others??  I'm just now finding out about them and I am actually interested in getting some of these models.  But I can't lay down all the money at once.

Hmmm.......maybe I should just hold out??   ;)  Maybe that other new series is going to be even better.

The Rooster:

Thanks for your latest post. Most of the existing model baitcasters will be replaced come 2011 with our new Tournament Class reels, which will be nothing short of awesome. FYI, we'll also be coming out with Tournament Class rods, which are equally impressive. The only existing model baitcasters that will remain in the lineup will be the Matrix XLT , Matrix X and Tara models.  The recently introduced Vision Slyder will continue on in the lineup as well.  Some dealers will continue to have some stock of existing models mentioned for a while, or you can buy them online at the Pinnaclefishing.com website (while inventory lasts).

Good Fishing!

I have to say, that this is far from amazing.  The quality is unbelievable, and the customer support seems incredible!  I have to say, as long as that continues, on into the future, we can bet that the pinnacle line of reels, will be the next abu garcia, for bass fishing.  ;)

Thanks, Wickyman.  But, once you see (and fish with) the new TC reels/rods, I think you'll agree that they far surpass Abu's offerings in quality and performance.  On a separate note...just saw the note under your photo about being a "new dad."  Congrats on that from all of us at Pinnacle.

Tight Lines,

Pinnacle1
