I picked up a ML on the last TW sale. I'm not gonna lie, I love this rod. For the price it's pretty fantastic. Anyone here fish the H or XH models? Do they run a little light like the rest of the Feather line? If I come across a sale I'll end up with more of these.

Yes, the 7'1" H/F. It's more like a MH+.

IMHO, they do, for better or worse.

I have the 7'1" Heavy casting Feather. Love the rod, just the lure rating is odd. 1/4oz to 2 oz??? Heaviest lure I'll throw is 1oz and lightest 3/8oz.

Great rod, also have the 7'1" Light for BFS.

Weird.  I have the exact same two rods as GHOST.  I think 1oz just about turns the rod into a noodle.  I have been throwing 3/8th and 1/2 jigs with it lately.  its fine.  it feels lighter than a full blown heavy rod to me.

I dont love the handle, but I am getting used to it.  not sure I would buy the same rod again if it broke.

I had a 7'7 MH for a bit and at the time I liked it because it was the lightest thing I ever held. A year later Dobyns had a super sale and I tried a 734C and never looked back.

The 7'7 MH feather was noticeably more tip heavy (had this opinion even before I picked up a Dobyns) and fished like a medium to me. Maybe the shorter versions balance better, but I'm not curious enough to try one out again.

I'm just more curious than anything. I'm having a lot of fun with the ML.

These are the 2 feathers I own.  The ML is a blast and the 7'7MH is confounding.  I heard the MH fished like a M, and was hoping it could be a long caster for lightweight finesse ballhead paddletails, but it just doesn't have the tip to sling or control light baits.  Been tossing a 1/2oz outcast chicken jig with it recently and it's fun to bow up on some chunky fish, but for this it feels just a hair too light.  It currently straddles a no mans land for me, but somewhat luckily it has a manufacturers defect in a misaligned first guide.  I'm going to trade it in and pay the difference to give the 7'7XH 2 piece a try as a light travel rod flipping stick or a 7'3XH 2 piece to cover frogs and pitching duties.  Keep going back and forth in my head and interested in others opinions.
