 big goby or glide baits - This was posted as a reccomend bait on a site I was looking at but what is a goby swimbait? we have no goby here in Iowa so what could this possibly mean

It means fish a goby. We have Ayu here, but it's a killer pattern.

we don't have perch,goby or anything ayu color we have bluegill and crappie.

That's the point. They'll all get bit anyway if you present them correctly at the right depth in the right spot at the right time.

Storm makes a pre-rigged goby swimbait.  Caught several smallmouth and a few walleye on one in Ontario.

 

Its a good color with good action.  I'd fish a goby bait just to see what happens.

Gobies generally relate to the bottom of a body of water, scurrying along bottom. If you really wanna mimic one, I'd say the Dark Sleeper or a tube is a good place to start.

Gobies don't have swimbladders so they always relate to the bottom.

The megabass dark sleeper is probably what you want.  It is a dead ringer for a goby and people say they work really well dragged on the bottom and hopped along like a jig.
