Big-Bass Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Anyone use the Mann's 30+ crankbait? I bought one in natural craw color and never used it (still in the box) and now have it up on eBay. Did they discontinue the bait...I heard these bad boys really dig deep in the water...as in 45ft. on a troll. Should I keep the bait or keep it up for auction? Thanks and let me know. Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 21, 2007 Super User Posted August 21, 2007 Fish with it, it 's far from being a collector 's item, on auction the most you could get for it would be around 4-5 dollars. Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 they r good baits but work u to death Quote
Stringjam Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 There's no need to work yourself to death with that thing - - Competition Cedars 4500 my friend. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 22, 2007 Super User Posted August 22, 2007 I fish a couple of the Mann lures (15+ & 20+), but ONLY for trolling. As Raul said, you're not going to get anything for the lure on EBay. Quote
Guest avid Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I don't know why, but I'm predjudice against manns baits I think it goes back to when Tom hit it big with the jelly worm. When he sold the company they just started putting out dozens of new baits every year. I never found a manns crankbait that was worth a ding dong diddly do, till the minus one. Somebody tell me something to change my mind. I have too much respect for the gentleman from Alabama who is a bass fishing icon. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted August 23, 2007 Super User Posted August 23, 2007 I love to use Mann's deep Saltwater plugs. They are work, they will wear you out, the best advice is to get a properly geared reel and appropriate rod. One thing for sure, when you nail that hog, you forget about how tired you were. One trick that works well on Fork is to make that long cast and hit the trolling motor, strolling them down into the bonnets of deep trees produces Double digit bass. I have targeted deep pre-spawners that don't ever go to the shore line to spawn many a times in late April, alls they do is move up in the water column to spawn in the tops of the bonnets of trees that are setting in 45-50 foot of water. Deep plugs are hard work cranking manual, but the payoff can be worth it. Matt Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 23, 2007 Super User Posted August 23, 2007 Forgot to add: if you fish with it change the hooks for razor sharp better quality, the ones they come with are as dull as a roller ball pen. Quote
