Super User J Francho Posted June 9, 2023 Super User Posted June 9, 2023 If you spool your reel up with duct tape, you definitely need to hit it with WD-40. 1 Quote
CrashVector Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 Don't. Enough said. Stop spraying lubricant on your line and then putting it in the water to pollute the water. 1 Quote

volzfan59 Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 I've heard of spraying WD-40 on arthritic joints, lot of old folks swear by it. Never heard of using it as a line conditioner. I change my line out pretty regularly so I've never used any line conditioner. On 6/9/2023 at 12:21 PM, Lmbasshunter said: 30 plus years of fishing and never used line conditioner 1 Quote

Lol Back in the 70's I knew fisherman that sprayed their plastic worms with the stuff as an attractant......... that's if they didn't chew tobacco ? You might have known my uncle. And without a word of a lie he used it on his elbow joints to relieve arthritic pain. He was an old Red Man guy. Any of the line and lure conditioners I’ve smelled, smells like Armorall. Car seat conditioner. I refuse to use anything on my line. I buy my line in bulk spools. 2 Quote
Dominat0r Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 ahhhhh......this is serious or are we joking here? People actually use this on their line? Quote

No one I currently know would use WD40 as a line conditioner. Many "old timers" did. I personally would never use it for that purpose, but I was curious if anyone on the forum had ever done so, and what the general consensus is as to that use. Quote

VolFan Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 I only use it on my reels with Big Game on them. Used together they are full blown magic. ?? 4 Quote
