Super User Bird Posted June 30, 2023 Super User Posted June 30, 2023 Was fishing in WV today in a high mountain lake and could almost taste the ashes, really bad. 10 is the lowest air quality rating here and we were at a 10. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted June 30, 2023 Super User Posted June 30, 2023 Tuesday, Chicago had about 1/2 mile visibility and smelled like a smokehouse. Better than it's usual urine smell but... It's improving but... 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted June 30, 2023 Global Moderator Posted June 30, 2023 Is this what it’s like to live in California??? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted June 30, 2023 BassResource.com Administrator Posted June 30, 2023 Meh. You guys have it easy. We get hit every year with a one-two combo from Canadian and California wildfires simultaneously. Some years it pegs the meters beyond what they can measure. The national news rarely covers it. But it gets a little smoky in NYC and you'd think it's the end of the world! LOL 2 2 Quote
Susky River Rat Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 I do not enjoy the smoke it is hard on me having asthma and I am out in it most the day for work. ( big building with 32 garage door open) We never give Mother Nature it’s due. It is far tougher then we are. Wild fires have been going on forever. Nature finds a way to heal and recover. 1 Quote

We have been lucky because my house is in the forest and we have not had to turn on our AC yet this year even with the 80 degree temps. With the heat and air quality alerts, we closed up the house today and switched over to AC. Thats about what St Clair looked like last week when I was there. Quote
