You can buy a deep SV spool and drop it in your reel.  It's the same spool as the Coastal 150 SV but for the chinease market.  The Salamandura 150 SV.  Does not fit existing SV reels except Coastal 150 SV.  Also the Coastal 150 SV will work too if you like blue.

Is there a shallow(BFS) spool for the Coastal 150? Or which other Daiwa shallow spool fit and work on the Coastal 150?

Anything that fits the tatula 100 or tatula ct.

Even though I use Daiwa reels exclusively I’m not following what spool fits which reels.
Can you please expand on this?

Tatulatard, I have a Tatula CT 100 in left hand and I bought a Ray's Studio BFS shallow spool last year. After reading what you said, I pulled that reel and my Coastal 150 in left hand, and installed the BFS spool in the Coastal SV 150. Well what do you know, the BFS spool fits and works in the Coastal SV 150! So cool that I can now use the Coastal 150 as a BFS configuration.

So, if I end up getting the Coastal SV TW 80 in the near future, any idea which BFS spool will work with this reel?

Thank you for giving me the thought to use the BFS spool from my Tatula CT 100 on my Coastal SV 150.

There is one or more bfs spools out there just for the tatula 80.  There is the ray's diy and the kkr spool.

Same spool as the Fuego SV that was sold in Asia, not sure where to buy one though.

Gentlemen,  where would I go to find out information like what's in this thread? I have a ton of Daiwa reels and don't know where to start.

Daiwa keeps this information "hidden". They don't want people to know most of the parts across all their reels are the same. Everything from their budget line up to their steez can be swapped out. What used to be a 100 sized reel is now a 150 or 200. They rebrand reels when it is just the frame from a previous or different model. Add some color accents, a different drag star and you have a new reel.

If you shop for spools you quickly learn they are interchangeable in a lot of different models.

Tackletour forum.  That's where all the reel autists hang out.  There is ZPI spool collecting happening over there.

What reels do you have?

Every TD-X model, several TD-Zs, TD Zillions and a few others from that era.

Td-z and td zillions share spools if the td-z is the 100m us trail with a 36 mill spool.  The td-z 100m spool is a popular upgrade for the td zillion reels to throw lighter baits better.   The steez a hlc also uses a 36 mill spool that is compatible with td-z 100m and td zillions.  If its the 103 or 105 td-z it uses a modern 34 mill spool that will swap between any super free 34 mill spools made including the current zillion sv boost spool.  USDM td-x don't share spools with other reels but the JDM td-x is compatible with any modern 34 mill super free spool.  I've seen sv spools swapped in them despite them being from 1998.

Thank you so much. I've been there before, but (like a couple other fishing sites that aren't this one) it's not the best on a mobile phone. Time to dust off my laptop!

Hi Tatulatard, one more reel if you know of a shallow BFS spool is available.

Thank you again Tatulatard! I took one of my TD Zillion and the TD Fuego and swapped the spools. I'm happy to say that the spool swap worked! All these years, I did not even thought that the TD Zillion and TD Fuego used the same spool size.

Thank you for posting the BFS spool for the TD Zillion. I'll be ordering o e spool for my TD Zillions and TD Fuego in black to switch out with which TD reel I want to use for BFS. I feel I have new life for those TD reels!

Thank you again!

Now...if I can find a shallow BFS spool for my Shimano Curado 51E....

There aren't any cheap diy spools for the 51e.  There used to be but now a yumeya spool 2nd hand is the best bet.  Avoid eBay and try the TT forum or here with a want to buy thread.

Tatulatard, thank you!  I ordered from Aliexpress the shallow spool for my Coastal SV TW and a shallow spool for my OG Zillions. I bought those 2 spools during their sale last week. I'll be giving new life to my 4 OG Zillions! Thank you again!

that is too much line for me. Would the Salamandura 103 or 70 fit the tatuala 100?
