As anyone who has been here a while knows I love braided lines . I started with original spiderwire which I loved.i could never figure out why they changed it. My love for spiderwire started and ended there.  I went on to bps braid because it was cheap but it was flat back then so I broke up with it.since then I've tried every spiderwire out there and never felt the love. Then I found power pro original. At the time it was the best made. That love affair lasted about 5 years. Then Berkley came out with a much smoother braid which I've forgot the name of. The next year they redid it. Then I tried tuff line domin8. It's a great line but fades way to fast.tried Diawa j braid and turned my reels yellowing 1 trip. It was also to soft and backlashes to much. Then along came Sufix 832. It's a great line that I used for years.

So over the years Ive mixed mono and flouro in with my braid. I always had that little devil on my shoulder saying the fish cared about seeing my line. So now I've gotten off that bandwagon andim going back to all braid. This put me on a trip to find something even better than 832. Then I found Vicious No Fade Braid.

I've spooled my baitcaster with 30 lb. This line is smoother and rounder than 832. It is also wound tighter from what I can tell. It doesn't dig and it casts wonderfully. As far as I can tell it has zero stretch. It's very sensitive which I like. The best thing is it doesn't bleed or fade at all.i used to color the last 6 feet with a black marker but that's over with now. I definitely have found a new favorite line and I'm back to all braid. It fits my style of fishing . Since I don't have to worry about my line quality I can concentrate on other things to catch more fish . So if you fish braid and are looking for a better braid I suggest giving Vicious No Fade Braid a try.

I’m an original power pro guy. I never once worried about fishing seeing my “faded green line”. I find something that works for me and stick with it. If fishing a leader or “no fade” braid gives someone more confidence then go for it.

Fins braid doesn’t change color or fade.

The Vicious will fade a bit, but not nearly as much as most others. 832 is more abrasion resistant than the Vicious and better suited to fishing wood and rock. I liked the Vicious No Fade, but 832 works better for me fishing in cover, and I prefer Fins Infinity for moving bait duty. Not knocking the Vicious, it's a quality braid, just sharing my experience with it.

Fins Sling Braid and Vicious No-fade are both great. Fins is a little softer than Vicious, and not as resilient to small bits of fraying in heavier cover. In any case they are both so good I think I bought too much as I'm not seeing any need to replace the lines some of which have been on for two seasons.

I prefer the Vicious because the color on the Fins is really light/bright, at least in my waters.

IMO not only do they not fade, they don't seem to be wearing either.

If no fade and a decent price is your jam, try Hercules no fade braid.

I made the switch from Vicious to the Hercules and I've never looked back. It's actually perfect in every way. It won't fade even a little like the Vicious. It's also dirt cheap in huge bulk spools. I've been using it for 2 years now and haven't had a single breakage or issue with it at all.

At least I'm not the only one who loves Hercules no fade.

Same.  Been preaching about if for 3 years on my yt channel.

It's literally the only braid I've never had any issues with at all.

I even use the 50lb camo version for surf fishing reds.

What's your channel? You might have been the one who put me up on it! I know I learned about it from YouTube.

I use the 20lb on my spinning combo for peacocks down south. The 30lb for my big top waters. The 50lb for frogging. 60lb for flipping and 80lb for huge swimbaits. I've backlashed 5oz baits on it and it never broke!

I’m looking to put vicious no fade high his his yellow on a couple skipping rods that do double duty for some standard casting length work as well. This line will be going on steez ct sv 70 sized reels. Typically, I’m using 30lb line like I braid but wondering peoples actual experiences with this lines diameter. In my experience the line diameters posted aren’t accurate. For those with experience with vicious no fade, is this like small for its size and if so would 40lb fit with some room to spare on a full 55 yards ish cast?

im looking for the thickest line (won’t dig) that will fit the steez ct sv without shortening a full cast due to spoiling the reel.

in shirt, Vicious no grade 30 or 40 lb for a 70 sized reel?

Do you like 30 or 40lb for a 70 sized baitcaster ?

Don't own a 70 size, but got one coming. I use 30lb on my 100 size reels.

I was thinking of trying 20 on the 70.

having been a proponent of 50 lb braid on baitcasters to lessen dig ins i put 30lb vicious no fade on 5 rods. it casts wonderful and was easy to remove backlash.i spent 8 hours on the water with no dye on my hands and no fade. the 30 lb did not dig or wind knot.

Hey Fellas, I am interested in trying the Her u,es braided line you talked about.   It looks like the diameters are much thinner than 832.   Have you guys noticed that?   Are you using the same lb. Test as you were with other lines.  I assumed if it is a Japanese line, it is like others and does have a smaller diameter.   I was looking at the 20 lb. Orange for spinning rods with a leader.   Thoughts?

Thanks

I use 20lb on all my baitcasters, 10lb for my  spinning reels for bass, and 6lb on my panfish/crappie rigs.

Part of the reason I use the Hercules is bc it's thinner than most other braids.
