Super User Darth-Baiter Posted May 31, 2023 Super User Posted May 31, 2023 I catch a fish so often when I’m doing something else. Like eating, peeing, or texting someone. It always reminds me to slow way down. 2 Quote
biggin Posted May 31, 2023 Author Posted May 31, 2023 Don’t finesse fish fast but crank and jerk bait might switch it up Quote
1984isNOW Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 I practically never remember what I was just doing when I catch a fish. Literally unhook it and think let's do it again... uhh what the heck was I just doing though? Was it moving? was it on a pause? Did I wiggle it? Did I wobble it? At least I know what lure it was 1 Quote
Super User webertime Posted June 1, 2023 Super User Posted June 1, 2023 Think of the last time you saw a crayfish or minnow flipping around like a gymnast. Less is more, more often than not. 1 1 Quote

1984isNOW Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 When's the last time you saw any aquatic creature doing 30 on the surface with a chainsaw? Buzzbaits still get hit... but I feel you man. Most times, its the natural presentation that gets'em, until you throw a plopper, chatterbait, something violently orange, a stick worm or one of those new poo baits that looks/acts like nothing that actually lives in or near the water. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted June 3, 2023 Super User Posted June 3, 2023 One day fish are caught on spinnerbait. Another day on a top water. Next day pitching worms. All in the same places. Just try to figure it out. The more one fishes the decisions become more routine. With a new angler it helps to visualize where a bass may be hiding then visualize the most effective presentation to get bit. Later on it becomes routine. Quote

Pressure makes things difficult . Fish may still be holding in the same spots . This spring I caught bass one week with spinnerbaits, the next on a top water, the next with a worm, all in the same type places. I visualize where a bass may be hiding . Its automatic , been doing it for so long I dont think about it . Might be a little nook on the bank or different color spot on the bottom . Then attempt to cast like a touring pro . Still working on those skills and always will be. Quote
