Garmin sideview appearing on wrong side of screen

So I have my echomap uhd 7inch transducer mounted on the left side of my little 10ft bass raider and when in side view mode, the returns from the right side appear on the left side of the screen and right side returns appear on the left. Is this the normal setting or something that can be fixed? I tried to change this in side view settings but the only thing it has are if I want only the left or right side to appear on the screen but that's not my problem, the returns are on the wrong side.

No it’s not the normal setting.   I can see how that could happen on a bass raider.  You need to change the direction the transducer is pointing or change the direction you are viewing the screen from.

I figured out the problem, the transducer side with the little white dot was facing the wrong way, thank you so much!

You can swap the direction of the transducer, or you can change the settings in the SideVu menu. There should be a sonar setup menu when in SideVu mode that says flip left/right. Most side imaging units have that option as depending on the hull, some instillations require you to mount the transducer opposite.

My boat is a perfect example as my side scan transducer is mounted to the bottom of the built in setback. If the transducer was mounted so left reads left and right reads right, the wire would be coming out the front and would make a big loop that would catch water and/or obstructions while running or fishing. Being able to switch the reading on the unit allows for a much more streamline instillation.
