Gregorym38 Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Went to my local lake and caught an 18 inch smallie, but the stomach was a little skinny. Could it have already spawned? Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted May 29, 2023 Global Moderator Posted May 29, 2023 It could have, but there’s only one way to know for sure Quote

Blue Raider Bob Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 The bottom of the tail is not damaged so it probably is a female. Your instincts are probable correct. It may be a spawned out female. Quote
pdxfisher Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Out here in OR the bass in each river are in different stages. Water temp difference of two biggest rivers is about 6 degrees. The fish I caught on Saturday in one river were post spawn. That same day a guy I know fished the Columbia and was catching big fat fish ready to spawn. Quote
