You don't see that every day.

Yikes! How did you get him unhooked?

Used a stick to push down on the hook and, thank goodness, it popped right out. He took a couple bites at the stick though, he wasn't amused. Brian.

I had a big softshell turtle hit a spinnerbait one time. It was a decent fight. I thought i had a catfish at first until it got to the boat.

Also catch lots of snappers and softshells when catfishing.

I caught a huge softshell on a #6 hook and  a worm while panfishing. Oh boy, that was a pain in the patoot. At least a bass can’t pull its head in a shell. I eventually got the hook out but whatta nightmare!

At least it was little, I hooked into one off a dam that had claws bigger than my hands. I think someone brought up an alligator a

Snapper or something and it got too big for'em. Had a shell wider than a trash barrel, was bonkers.

I've also had a few regular size ones either bite or snag, always feels like a wonster bass until it starts swirling around all weird.

I keep a pair of extra long needle nose pliers in my boat for pike and muskie fishing. They come in handy at times like that.

Pretty sure someone out there got the nickname "nubs" or "stubs" because of this.

I've caught a few over the years. 1 on a square bill, one on Yum Dinger, and the oddest was on a Bronzeye Frog!
