Super User LrgmouthShad Posted May 25, 2023 Super User Posted May 25, 2023 Hey y’all, Whats new with spinnerbaits? Try any recently that you wound up liking? Are those green fish liking different ones than your usual producers? I was tinkering with spinnerbaits for about an hour before work this morning so they’ve been on my mind 1 Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted May 25, 2023 Super User Posted May 25, 2023 I have been using painted blades more, Giving them a different look 2 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted May 25, 2023 Super User Posted May 25, 2023 Gold/copper combo has worked well for me the past few years around bream beds. A gold main willow and copper secondary Colorado paired with a bream patterned skirt. 2 Quote
Pat Brown Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Try fishing them with no skirt and some sort of horizontal swimming trailer that's flat to keep it running straight (I like rage bugs). Also agreed with painted blades working well. I feel like when I fish them this way big bass always seem to get the whole bait in their mouth and I don't need a trailer hook at all. Quote

Super User PhishLI Posted May 26, 2023 Super User Posted May 26, 2023 In have these in my cart. Uses a titanium arm that's quite flexible and acts like a weed guard. Debo on YT knocked off about 30 throwing it in a recent vid, so the wire's resiliency sems to be legit. Also, I like where the line tie is located for coming through weeds. I've had some luck with compact SBs, so these make sense to try. 1st Gen Topspin - Tackle Warehouse 3 Quote
Super User Darth-Baiter Posted May 26, 2023 Super User Posted May 26, 2023 i'm new to all of this. not sure if this is a new thing, but the smaller spinnerbaits are nice. throwing a full sized one out there reminds me of trying to throw lawn furniture. a spinnerB just isnt that aerodyanamic to begin with.. smaller spinnerB fly a bit better. the SV-3 Spinnerbait is nice. sturdy wire, that relies on the blades to provide the most thump. they come thru grass nice!! Whichever size cast the best with your equipment is the size you should be throwing . I throw 1/2 oz the best on my spinnerbait setup. Quote

On track to repeat last year. Wish I could say the same. It led Jan and Feb in MO, but I haven’t got much action on one since. Since I’m changing bass lakes, maybe luck will change 1 Quote
