Joe Buck Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 Yesterday I had a great day on the River using this grub. I had tried a variety of things the day before and caught good numbers but no big ones. This specific grub was what the big ones wanted it seemed today and was the difference maker. Problem is I got these on sale and have no clue what they are called and what a similar substitute would be as I don’t think they are produced anymore. They have that unique feature with the additional dangly plastic in the belly section. Any ideas or suggestions? 1 Quote
Joe Buck Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 This was the biggest of the bunch. 21.5. 4 Quote
Blue Raider Bob Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 21.5 is a monster down here! Can't help you with the curly tail although Kalins and Mr. Twister may have something in the same color, just not with the appendage. Were you Texas rigging or using an exposed hook? Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted May 24, 2023 Global Moderator Posted May 24, 2023 I remember those grubs! Quote
Super User gim Posted May 24, 2023 Super User Posted May 24, 2023 Joe Buck? The sports announcer? We should be so flattered he decided to join us on a lowly fishing forum. 1 Quote

Using a 1/8 ounce black lazer eagle claw Pro-V jig head. Just reeling fast enough to keep it off the bottom. Quote
Tatulatard Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 The dangly bit is to be inserted into the hookpoint as a weed guard on a jig head. I don't remember the brand. 1 Quote
