galyonj Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 Maybe your crawdads are a lot more athletic than mine are, but the ones here kinda....scoot when they're in a hurry. That said, I think it depends on the size of the plastic, what the structure/cover situation is like, and how the fish want it, and how patient I'm willing to force myself to be to fish a certain way. to further complicate matters, you should also consider a swinghead. The point I'm trying to make is that they all work fine, but the fish'll let you know what they want. 1 Quote

LOL seems shakey heads and ned rigs are just about the same.... almost. Shakey has a little more pivoting. Quote
Super User Bird Posted May 23, 2023 Super User Posted May 23, 2023 I do better with Shaky head and only throw speed craws and brush hogs. Only negative with Shaky head is I deep hook them occasionally and have to go behind the gill to save them. 1 Quote

Guys are catching them every day... for the most part smaller bass, 3 or smaller, sometimes bigger 4 pounds but that's it. I caught a 4 and a three the rest under 3. But then it stopped, fished the same way, texas mainly senko's. But the other guys, from time to time, 4's and 5's. Nothing today over 2. 1 Quote

It's the truthiest truth I know. lol Nit for nothin', but if I woke up tomorrow and all of my gear had been stolen by aliens, the first things I'd rebuy would be a medium-light spinning outfit, mushroom head jigs with #4 hooks, and some shakyheads. Make of that what you will. 1 Quote
biggin Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 most of what I caught since April is Texas rig senko's on EWG's pop drag. Quote
