I finally remembered to take a picture of my "new" boat. I've been wanting a Ranger RT 188 since my buddy bought one in 2015. I decided last June it was time to part ways with my old 1995 Stratos 285 Pro XL that I've fished out of for the last 26 years and in August I found my RT 188.  It's a 2016 with a Yamaha 115 V max SHO. It had only 8 hours on it when I bought it. I don't know how you could own a boat for six years and put only 8 hours on it but I got a practically new boat for $15,000 less than a new one.Ranger.thumb.jpg.5c7722f2fde64505c4d81292076459b0.jpg

Good deal looks new. ?

Got new boat wet yesterday finally.  First time I posted pic of my Durango without a kayak on top.

Lowe Stinger 175 with Merc 60.   Not big, but should be perfect for my 2800 acre lake.  Everything checked out well except the Motorguide 70 foot pedal is exceedingly stiff.  I need to see if they bound the cables somewhat when installing the transducer.  Otherwise pretty happy with it so far.

Congrats, looks perfect for getting into the skinny pads on the Lower Potomac too.  Ultrex's have a tensioner that can adjust how stuff the pedal is, but not sure about MG. Found this though:

Appreciate that.

I took the pedal out yesterday (just four screws).  I adjusted the tension screw and sort of examined the cables.  The motor does seem to move easier, but can't really know until I get back on the water.  The motor hits the trailer tongue, so I can only operate while holding it up at awkward angle.  I expect it to be better, but also expect to cut the cable ties for the ducer cable and reattach 'looser'.  I do think the motor cables are impacted by the transducer install.  If that doesn't do it, I'll take it back to the dealer.  I also would have them replace the band holding the transducer on.  It gets in the way when I try to stow the motor 180 degrees from where it is now.  Not a big deal....a small nuisance, though.  I mentioned in a different thread that this dealer is new to fishing boats, so I'm sort of their guinea pig.  But, they have been pretty good so far....we both have had some learning to do.

I hope you don’t intend to sit on that back pedestal seat (post) otherwise your happiness may be a bit lessened (I would hope).

Last summer had to downsize as I now fish by myself due to wifes health issues.  Went from a 22' down to this 16' ,  great boat, excellent condition, really enjoying the easier launch and load compared to that 22'.

Thanks, I got lucky, it is a garage queen, original owner was an older gent and he took really good care of everything, kept all his reciepts and records. Second owner also kept it garaged, he and his wife bought property in the UP of Mich, they needed money to build on their property, so I was at the right time and place.  Had to drive 200 miles, but well worth the trip..

Here’s my new ride well new to me  I got her at the end of last summer  my 1968 17 foot MFG Edinburgh with a 1984 70HP Johnson on the back the price was right. The guy just wanted it gone so I dragged her home and told my wife about it when I pulled in the driveway with it lol took some lumps but after she look at it she let me keep it lol.   Allie she needed was a water pump and a thermostat and some fresh fuel.  I was able to take her out  twice before I had to winters her.  It’s quite a change going from a canoe the this  I still plan on keeping my canoe for the spots I can’t put the big boat  now I’ve been spending the winter getting her rigged for fishing F307B48B-85E0-4D9E-9D15-45A7660DC9A6.jpeg.fab38a7e1838b1ffa53d52624e7a19d2.jpegF307B48B-85E0-4D9E-9D15-45A7660DC9A6.jpeg.fab38a7e1838b1ffa53d52624e7a19d2.jpegF307B48B-85E0-4D9E-9D15-45A7660DC9A6.jpeg.fab38a7e1838b1ffa53d52624e7a19d2.jpegF307B48B-85E0-4D9E-9D15-45A7660DC9A6.jpeg.fab38a7e1838b1ffa53d52624e7a19d2.jpeg6582AB5D-623E-4626-9872-3017181C2A1B.jpeg.5a292be2b1bb9b6b2dd870ae2588cf0f.jpeg026890BD-06EC-4AA6-8D13-567ACE406EBA.jpeg.b0fd429813949208c3659e9506938069.jpeg

Good looking old girl. And howdy neighbor. I live in Rockland and grew up in Brockton.

Thank you. What part of Brockton did you live in. I’m in the Campello section. Right off plain street?

My daughter and her husband live on Oldham Pond in Hanson. I fish there a lot out of convenience. They have a dock and my son-in-law has a Skeeter bass boat, but we fish all over really. That's the only pond that is a regular for us. Everywhere else is fair game. Oh, and Monponsett in Halifax is kind of a regular too, but that gets fished harder than most, so the bite can be tough there.
