MacP Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I'm taking her to the mechanic for some work tomorrow. New Water Pump Impeller, Spark Plugs, Lower Unit Oil and Fuel Lines. Then the good stuff gets added: Humminbird 598 SI unit at console/TM and a brand new Minn Kota Edge. I went to Bass Pro Thursday and lucked out and got the last one - it even rang up cheaper than they had it marked. She's dirty! Next week, she'll be clean and sporting some new goodies! Also, I think my registration sticker is off on that side. Ru-roh. Here's the Hobie from my Profile Pic. she's loaded down for an overnight trip on the Caney Fork. Had to get someone to carry my hammock and sleeping stuff. ;-D Quote
keninaz Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I recently got a Wilderness Ride 115X. Getting a bit older and recently had back surgery (something I would rather not repeat) so I decided that putting it on top of my SUV with 20" tires and rims was not an option for this heavier fishing kayak. I picked up a little 4'x6' utility trailer and I should be able to handle the weight of getting it on and off without a problem. It's low to the ground and much easier than stripping the console with the sonar/FF and seat out of the boat just to get it down to around 72#. I may have to put some carpet on the wooden frame I made up for the kayak to sit on but I think the wood should be OK. Now if the winds will die down just a bit (this is our worst month of the year) I will get this thing in the water! 2 Quote
