captdon Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 It's been beastly hot out but i have managed to pull out a few here in Naples, just shore fishing, I don't own a boat anymore. I'd love to join anyone that likes shore fishing here in Naples 4 Quote
Don51 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Peacocks? Very nice! I am jealous. I live in Punta Gorda and go kayak fishing. The area is infested with small bass. I very rarely break 2 lbs! It is what it is. I just keep my expectations low. ? Quote
Super User geo g Posted May 20, 2023 Super User Posted May 20, 2023 Very nice, I fish the Ally a lot, many Peas there! Quote

We went on a February day in 2022 that was supposed to be partly cloudy and in the mid 70s, but turned out to be cloudy, upper 60s and windy. Quote
Super User geo g Posted May 23, 2023 Super User Posted May 23, 2023 I used to fish 41 a lot. The big 67, little 67, and L28 interceptor. That was 20 years ago. But since I live in Davie, I fish the Alley a lot more now. All those waters now have a healthy Pea population. Quote

Just look into those eyes, they have eyes like a Tiger. He held back nothing when he painted this color scheme. The best part is they hit at full speed with violent hook sets, long runs like a snook, and a series of aerobatic jumps. They never quit fighting even when thumbed and brought in the boat. They are truly the Pit Bulls of the freshwater fishing world. We are so lucky to have them down here in our backyards! Believe me when I say I would rather catch one decent size Peacock than 20 black bass of similar size. They are just that remarkable a fish to catch! 1 Quote
Justbass11 Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 I lived in Naples for over 40 years. Best fishing we’re on golf courses in the late afternoon. My personal best came from Marriott Marco Island golf course and that was 7 1/2 pounds. Enjoy your fishing down there catch a big one and again try those golf courses Quote
captdon Posted June 18, 2023 Author Posted June 18, 2023 LOL, I have been run off of every golf course in Naples, i usually get in a few minutes fishing before the golf cart guard/gestappo show up and run me off. 1 Quote
