I was just going thru my lipless boxes and donating some to my son, and have several in gold. Don’t think I’ve ever thrown them much. Any good?  What conditions?

Cloudy days, tannic water, around shiners, or just whenever I feel like it because it's an excellent color.

26" long, on a gold/black Red-Eyed Shad in the middle of June.

Gold is a great lipless color. Seems to work really well around weeds for me, especially when it's cloudy or in tannic water.

Gold is right up there with chrome / blue back and crawfish color.

When I lived in Florida I’d opt for gold over silver when it came to “flash”. The murkier water had something to do with it. I also figured that Bass were feeding on Golden Shiners rather than Shad.
Now that I live in Tennessee I find I have more success with silver. However, I still keep gold baits in my box in case I run into some stained water.

Gold/black is THE hardbait color where I usually fish, though it works well elsewhere. These are my 2 favs: Cordell Super Spot and the H2O Xpress store brand. Both are under $5. I have a box chock full of Traps that I don't use because these two outproduce it 2:1, at least where I fish. A lighter color gold may work well in places with shad as the primary forage.

Everyone has made the same observation that gold works well in dirty or tannic water. Also don't forget golden shiners are gold in color.

Tore It up on gold once, then never caught another fish on them.

Gold is a good color for any species of game fish, in any water that I have fished.  It may not always be the best color, but it is never the worst, not to bright, not to subtle, never hurts to give it a try.

I dont have one but will  correct that. Gold blade spinnerbaits are stupendous and have a lot of success  with the gold foil Fat Raps.
