Do you find the whopper plopper 60 or 90 preferable for smallmouth in smaller streams and creeks (2-3 ft deep/10-20 yards wide?)

Do you feel like one of them generates a louder sound or that the smaller or larger profile is more effective? The smallmouth I am targeting in these streams are typically 12-16” with a fair number of 18+“ in the water. I obviously would prefer the 18s but am happy with quantities of 16.

90's catch plenty of numbers along with size without being as finicky as the 60 is.

Hard to get the 60 plopping sometimes?

Especially with any kind of surface disturbance/current.

Yeah, not to mention ease of casting

I never did have the problems with the 90 that some people complained about, but the WP in general is a dead bait for me, except on untouched/hardly touched streams in the middle of absolutely nowhere. It went from lights out to can't buy a bite. The one bait above all baits that, in my experience, the fish became stunningly conditioned to.

105 or 120 sized Choppos for me.  I've had 12" and smaller fish hit the 120.  Go big or go home!  I don't really fish anything smaller than a 90.

Does the Choppo produce better than the WP?

Yeah even just a year or two ago it was still quite a bit more effective than it is now.  Man what I wouldn’t give to go back to when it was first introduced to experience that.

I think either one works well, but I do prefer the action the Choppo has over the WP.  I don't have any ploppers in my tackle to compare to.

Luckily, where I fish up here in MN they still love the prop baits and will smash them to the point of launching out of the water.

That’s awesome, yeah here in the Midwest it has become about 40% less effective than it used to be unfortunately.
