Cbump Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 I have these dirty jigs 1/2 oz magnum horseshoe shaky heads and wondering what you would use them on. These are a 7/0 gama hook. I have some 12” ol monsters but they might be too big. The 7” senko looks good though. Have you thrown these? 1 Quote
paulmandude Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 I think the Ol’ Monster is fine with that hook. It’s mostly tail and I’ve heard the bass recognize that and eat them well. The Senko looks fine too but with it being loaded with salt, it wouldn’t be my first choice. Most people go with a Zoom magnum trick/finesse worm or the like. 2 Quote
KP Duty Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Any large worm. I have some of the Owner mag shakey heads in my cart @ TW...they come in either 8/0 or 9/0. Going to use them on the 9.8" flick shake worms I picked up on sale. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Magnum_Shakey_Football_Head_3pk/descpage-OMSH.html Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 17, 2023 Global Moderator Posted May 17, 2023 I make some big swingheads with 7/0 hooks that I fish 7" stick worms, 11" YUM Mighty worms, Zman Giant TRDs, and a few others on. Any of those should work well on that shakyhead. 1 Quote
Pogues2300 Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 I used strike king 8” bull worm with those hooks and it seemed to work well. 1 Quote

Just bite the old monster down maybe 25% and it'll be awesome on a shaky head or just fish it full sized and it will work fine but might tear up the plastic on casts. I actually really like beavers and craws on shaky heads also. 1 Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted May 18, 2023 Super User Posted May 18, 2023 The 10.5" Monster and 12" Magnum Monster, 10.5" Mighty Worm, and the Venom Nightmare 6.25" Craw work. Quote

Primus Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 This one has put nice fish in the boat for me, it was copied by the Yum Mightee Worm . The advantage that the Xcite Maximus has is that it is bouyant . https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Xcite_Baits_MaXimus_Worm_5pk/descpage-XBM.html Quote
