I bet his new bait is something like Milliken's Hover Juggle

I bet it's made by one of his sponsors :wink7:

I don't think it's the bait,  it's the angler.  Wheeler is the GOAT.

Whoa!   I was wondering if Ott was gonna be able to make it into the top ten.   We went out to eat and when we got back he was in 2nd place.  Did Wheeler give him one of his secret baits?

OK - Down & Dirty

Who ya got hoisting the hardware ?

The local weather says today's temperature is forecast to be WARMER than yesterday.

3% Precip ~ Sun and clouds mixed.

High near 80F.

Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph.

If Wheeler has even half the bag he had yesterday,

the rest of this group of hammers is going to need to do better

than they did yesterday to over take him.

I don't see it happening so I'm sticking with the leader to pull this one out.

Jacob Wheeler 29 - 09

2nd Ott DeFoe 24 - 08

3rd Adrian Avena 23 - 12

4th Edwin Evers 23 - 11

5th David Dudley 23 - 01

6th Randall Tharp 22 - 07

7th Matt Becker 21 - 07

8th Jacob Wall 21 - 02

9th Bradley Roy 21 - 01

10th Takahiro Omori 20 - 12

It's hard to bet against Wheeler.  He's been over 20 lbs in every round he has fished in this tournament.  One of the others will have a big day and make it interesting.  Wheeler will probably need 20 lbs to win.

Looks like a two horse race, still have to figure out how these MLF events work, they been fishing since Weds., there is fishing periods, groups, knockout stages.   Just fish 4 days and have a couple of cut lines, some of us are stupid lol.

These final weights appear to be only one day + today?

Awesome, and thanks for taking the time to explain it all.  That's a lot to explain.

Wheeler is just dominating this thing now.

I noticed MLF pays out 3k+ for 41-80th place, think BASS stops at 40.   That's a pretty good deal for those who decide to fish MLF vs. BASS.   That 3k+ I'm sure goes a long way to keeping them on the trail.

Yeah you were right as usual in our conversation earlier today, dude is an industry unto himself.    He's different from every other pro I've learned about, he's about building an empire along with trying to be the greatest in the sport.

He's quite the talented man.

We really do share a brain, just 5 minutes ago I was pondering the fact that a top 20 angler in the world, a Classic winner, and dude fishing on an epic big Bass factory can be blanked at 130pm.

Makes me feel better about my pathetic game though ?

Wall boat flipped that Glide fish like a boss ?

I don't watch any of it, but I like the MLF catch, weigh, release format.   The only thing I hate more than seeing bass hauled around all day to be weighed is taking them miles away to a stage somewhere for hero photos.  I'm also a fan of the fish handling rules.  I don't think landing nets are allowed.  I think they should be.  IMHO a proper net is the best safest way to get a fish into a boat.

I lived in northern Alabama when I got my first boat.   When I bought my first map of Guntersville,  the owner of the tackle store asked if I fish the lake a lot.   I explained to him that I just bought a boat and was new to lake fishing.   He pulled out a pen and said he would mark a few spots for me.  The first place he marked he said was the most famous spot on the lake.  I’m pretty sure that spot is where Wheeler was when the tournament ended today.  A lot of big tournaments are won by guys fishing very well known community holes, they just fish them better than the rest of the community.  ?

Congratulations Jacob Wheeler

I feel like watching Wheeler right now is like seeing Tiger Woods when he was at his peak.  The guy is amazing.  We are watching history being made and might not even realize it.

To win as often as he does is incredible.  There are many great anglers who have won only one or very few times.  Truly amazing.

I think you’re right.   Now I’ll be able to get a good nights sleep. ?  It’s be 20 years since I’ve been to that part of the lake.   That development was not there back then.    Thanks.

LOL No worries. Just a quick scan of the shore looking for giant boat houses with 3 little hoohas on top. I think it took 30 seconds. Lucky I guess ?
