Do any of you use the VMC crossover rings for wacky rigging and if so how do you like them?  Also, what size rings are best for most Senko style stick worms including the Dudley worms that seem a bit bigger?

They are far and away the best o-rings available. Easily get a full day out of a stick bait with them...

I use them exclusively.

Size is somewhat of an after thought as they stretch quite well so I order small.

#6 for Senkos and #3 for Jackal flickShake.

I have had the VMC crossover tool and bands for a year and keep forgetting to try them.  I have always used two rings crossed over each other and it has worked well.  I need to get this system going this season!

They are the outstanding, try them you won't regret it. I like #5 & #6 for senkos. Probably best to order multiple sizes.

Interesting that VMC recommends size #7 for Senkos and size #6 for YUM Dingers ?

I know the Dudley Wacky's are bigger around than Senko's. I like fishing those but they are so darned soft....hence my asking about the rings.

Small bass will occasionally pull a 5" Senko straight out of a 7mm and a 4" out of a 6mm ring don't ask me how I know lol.    Its easier to put a 5" senko in the 7mm without the tool so i will use them still for the 5" if i forget my tool.

I use them for wacky and neko rigging and they work great to make worms last caught 5/6 on a wacky rig last Saturday all on the same senko and it's still tied on.  I carry 5mm-7mm for Senkos, x-zone worms, and roboworms/fat mostly.

Examples of VMC Cross Over Rings Rigging Suggestions :

  • 8mm: 6" Senko
  • 7mm: 5" Senko
  • 6mm: 6" Roboworm Fat
  • 5mm: Zoom Trick Worm
  • 4mm: 4.5" Roboworm Straight Tail
  • 3mm: Small finesse worms and drop shot baits

*I believe you could drop down one size with above applications and still be fine - (i.e. 6mm : 5" Senko , 4mm : Zoom Trick Worm) ... Your experiences with soft plastic worm / soft stick worm sizing ?

They're amazing! I tried them for the first time last season, and won't go back to O-Rings.

As a very rough guide, I think you want 1mm of diameter per inch length of your plastic worm. So I use 5mm rings with my 5" worms. Of course if your worms are fatter/thinner, this may not be accurate.

They're not cheap. Knock-offs are starting to appear on Temu for about 1/10th the price from VMC.
