Looking to get a large 7'6" Medium Light/Fast spinning rod for finesse small mouth fishing and have narrowed it down to these two particular models. They are both in the same price range of $70 - $80, the Fate is on sale while the Defy is regular price...just wondered if anybody had these two rods and which they thought was better for the money?

I have the fate black in 7’-1” med light. I use it for Ned rigs with an older (heavier) 13 fishing spinning reel and 8 lb braid. I find it’s very well balanced and plenty sensitive enough for my tastes especially at the $65.00 price.

Omen Green uses the same T30 (Toray) blank as Fate Black.  I have two - great rods - and my buddy flipped over his.  My ML baitcaster is the least-expensive rod I take out, and will never be without one.

Not in ML - they are fast through the mid with the ML in a light tip.

They are shocking light-in-hand.

Anybody with the Defy want to chime in? The most difference I can see is the Defy has the 24 ton blank while the Fate has the 30 ton.

@Brett's_daddy I do have a question. You are asking about a 7’-6” rod  which on the 13 fishing website does not show the defy black available in 7’-6” only the the defy gold. Are you considering a shorter rod in the defy black or am I misunderstanding ?

All the Fate Blacks are somewhat tip heavy and on the stiffer side.  Both the Fate and Omen Greens for whatever reason have considerably lighter tips.  They both share the 30t blanks, but power and action wise are very different and the suggested weight ratings reflect that.
