I had a great fishing friend that has passed on.  We caught a bunch of salmon in Alaska with an Abu Garcia 5500 C3.  I gave him one mounted on a plaque for his retirement ceremony.  I want to have something engraved on mine.  I’m using mine for smallmouth and walleye now.  Anyone know of a place that will do that for me?

Just do an internet search for "engravers near me". I have gotten several odd things engraved at a local shop.

Although I’ve never had a fishing reel engraved my suggestion would be a local jewelry shop. Especially independent jewelry shops not big name shops. Also my daughter has a tattoo artist that does beautiful engraving which I have seen firsthand on some guns and knives he engraved.

The Things Remembered store closest to me will no longer engrave anything that they did not sell. It may vary by store.
