Super User David P Posted August 21, 2007 Super User Posted August 21, 2007 The cavitrons are great! I caught my first bass on a buzzbait last week, and it was on a Cavitron. I'm going to use it again tonight. Anyone looking for a good buzzbait, try these puppies out. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted August 22, 2007 Super User Posted August 22, 2007 My PB of 7lbs. 3oz. was caught on a Cavitron buzzbait in that very same color and size. You better have a strong heart if you use one of these. Quote
BassHunter69 Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 rest assured my fine friend my heart is strong and pure, and more then ready and willing to get all the mega strikes i can get Quote
robbor Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Ive fished alot of buzzbaits that head design doesnt look to hot. The best buzzbaits Ive fished were stanley jigs brand, they will reel slow, very little drag and very sharp hooks. I find it more benefical to be able to control the speed, you can always reel them faster, but a heavy buzzer wont go slower. The stanleys are almost imposible to find, but if you run across a 3/8 one buy it, you wont be sorry. Ive drilled my blades also and have really not seen any differance. I also prefer no clacker. If you miss more than about 5-10% of your strikes you are having to reel them to fast. Quote
BassHunter69 Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 robber thanks for the input but no thanks im gonna stick with my cavatron Quote
SimonSays Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 My 1 dollar walmart one works pretty darn well, and compared to that ..... I can't wait to try a calvitron Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Robber -I dont get it. The head designs on those stanleys are not properly (hydrodynamically)designed. There is no planeing or lift to them.As for drag- It depends on the cup angles of the blade. As for sharp hooks. We use Gamakatsu's- the best. One of the natural properties of a single bladed buzz bait is it has a natural torque to one side. It dosent have a counter torque found with dual counter rotating blades. A keel is built into the head(like the keel of a boat) to help it run straight .The hook is one size larger than standard weighted buzzbaits. They are set back further so it virtually eliminates the need for the trailer hook. I just wanted to make some points. What I do say to all fishermen is use what you have confidence in. Confidence is 90% of the game. Quote
BassHunter69 Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 i sincerley belive cavitron is the way to go with this buzz bait i dont have to hold the rod up high, i can point the rod down and just reel it in, it planes so nicely like you wouldn't belive. i really love this product so this is my go to buzzbait when i need one no hands down Quote
