Hey guys,

If you're responding to the last couple of posts on a thread, you don't need to quote it.  It clutters up the thread - especially when quoting the post directly above yours.  Lots of repeating and needless scrolling results.

 

So please ease up on the quote button folks.

I far prefer people to quote me if they are replying to me directly. It makes it clear who they are referring to and also gives me a notification that someone is talking to me.

Casts, 

perhaps another option is to use the arroba symbol immediately followed by the user’s forum name. It is a way to direct your comment to that person. 


When you start typing after the arroba, the site will start guessing the person’s forum name. When it finds it, select it and what is shown below results. 

 

 

eg, @casts_by_fly

Yup, and that also notifies the person you're replying to.
