GRiver Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 I like stupid tubes, by secret lures https://shop.secretlures.com/ really like their tube jigs, weight is inside the tube. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 6, 2023 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 6, 2023 Ya, well....they only work on 4" tubes. And yes, I've tried them. Here's how I did, what I did, and my final words on it: 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted May 6, 2023 Super User Posted May 6, 2023 Secret Lures makes a 1/8 & 3/16 with 3/0 hook, only one I found. Tom 1 Quote
JediAmoeba Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 I have flipped some 6" tubes before - thought they looked like a big frog swimming down. I used owner beast hooks with tungsten putty in the tube. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 6, 2023 Super User Posted May 6, 2023 I Texas rig a 3.5” tube and flip it into the holes in the coontail mats. It pulls through pretty easy. I use the same rig for fishing water willows growing out on raised humps. Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted May 6, 2023 Super User Posted May 6, 2023 @GRiver thanks for posting about those heads. Just ordered some along with some new tube baits. 1 Quote
GRiver Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 @BrianMDTX I think you’ll like them, BPS has some but the hook is kinda big for what I like, 4/0. I like the colors too, smoke purple has worked good for me in clearer water. They must have a lot of salt in the tubes, the hooks will rust where it comes out of the tube if you leave it rigged in storage for long periods. But other than that, great tubes and jig heads. Quote
