Super User Dwight Hottle Posted May 3, 2023 Super User Posted May 3, 2023 Day two was another blow day. No fishing. Day three was a small craft advisory plus wet & cold. We were limited as to where we could fish but we made the best of it. Total count for the day was 35 smallies. We had five over 5lbs & one 6lber. The bass were tight to the bottom. We caught all the fish on blade baits in 5-15 fow. 26 Quote
Super User Swamp Girl Posted May 4, 2023 Super User Posted May 4, 2023 The Wind and Mighty Dwight Howl! The wind howls The waves heave The masses flee But Dwight won't leave. He bounces like A rubber ball His bum goes up And then it falls. The mighty bass Must ever eat They see the flash A tasty treat? Some weight, A strike, The set, The fight! Dwight might live With largemouth now But it's smallmouths that Make him howl! 10 Quote
HudsonAngler Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Day two sound rough, but nice job on day three despite conditions! 35 smallies is great, and those 5lbers & 6lber are real nice catches. Were the blade baits a specific color or brand that work better for you in these conditions? 1 Quote

I use several different brands but they are all highly similar except for hardware meaning hooks & split rings. The brands that don’t use split rings I avoid otherwise I have to add the rings so I can change out hooks as needed. Gold works better in dirty water & silver in clean water. Quote
