Seems every time I order from BP my order will come in multiple shipments even though every item says 'In Stock'.  My orders from Tackle Warehouse most always come in one shipment. Don't know what the deal is but it's very frustrating. Anyone else have this problem?

They are in stock online. Doesn’t mean they have them at one singular store. They probably get drop shipped from all over. Some items ship directly from the manufacture too. Tackle warehouse only has two locations. They ship from both.

What he said. With BPS if they have your items in the warehouse, that's where your order ships from. If not, the warehouse ships what they have, the rest comes from a store. Sometimes multiple stores. I've never found it to be frustrating, always get my stuff on the date promised if not the day before. For me, BPS standard shipping is always faster than TW.

Just made an order Sunday for 6 items at bps. Arrived today in three different packages. I’d assume they ship from where ever it’s in stock.  Sure beats waiting over a week from tw .

Yep I’ve noticed the same thing. Package comes without a packing slip and that is the most frustrating thing about it. Sort of don’t know what to expect. Guess you can check your email but I just want a packing slip.

I won’t talk ill of BPS or Cabela’s but I don’t have the customer relationship I once had with them years ago. At one time, years ago, they were full line dealer for many top manufacturers       . BPS would rather push the house brand of items these days and I’m not interested in them.

I've had a couple of recent orders where a few items were damaged. Not in shipping, damage at their place and sent out damaged. They acknowledged it was their fault and made good in a short time frame but it’s just a hassle.

I could name a few dislikes and give some poor opinions but won’t dis them. I have found others that can get me what I need/want.

Cabela's is no where near the company they were years ago.  Best buddy of mine worked there for 35 years, and many other friends did as well.  They have all moved on to other things.

Sad but true. I remember the good old days when I'd wait on pins and needles for the BPS catalog to arrive in my mailbox. I would rush home from school and circle my wish list. Good memories. Today I just use TW for almost everything. It's better than BPS in almost every way. Frankly, I was never a fan of the old Cabelas.

I agree. However, where I am, they are still by far the best in person tackle retailer around me, and it’s not even close. They must have 25 aisles of fishing tackle. Bass, walleye, panfish, muskie, salmon, and a dedicated trout fly shop.

There’s also a Scheels, Fleet Farm, Dicks, and Thorne Brothers within 30 minutes of me, but Cabela’s might have more than all of those combined.

If I’m not mistaken, Cabelas originally started in western Nebraska.

Yep, Cabela's started in Sidney, Nebraska. I met Dick Cabela about 25 years ago, nice guy. They made some fantastic products back in the day...still have a ton of Cabela's branded Gore-Tex coats, parks, bibs, jackets, socks, gloves, hats...you name it. Great stuff that lasts.

There is a Cabela's, BPS, and a Scheels in Omaha area, they all do pretty well. I frequent them all for fishing tackle...and do order quite a bit from T-warehouse when I want specific things not found locally.

I live in Springfield Missouri by the Grand Daddy store and sometimes they have to

order it from other stores. I know they’re really pushing their brand more and more every year. It’s a crap shoot every time you go there

Yeah this is normal for BPS/Cabela's. The head scratcher for me is, I'll literally order 4-5 baits and they'll ship them in huge boxes. So unnecessary.

I've asked about the lack of a packing slip. They used to enclose one. Last month I ordered a couple of rods. I ordered two piece rods instead of one piece, so I needed to do an exchange. They emailed me a packing slip, even though I didn't need one to exchange. I was told that it's a paper saving deal. All you have to do is ask should you ever need it.

You are 100% correct I’m sure. BPS/Cabela’s is fairly easy to deal with. Hope they resolve your issue. I don’t want to bad mouth them. Time have changed. They have changed. It is what it is. All that loyalty stuff went out the window a long time ago. Big companies like that put a lot of good mom and pop shops out of business. I’m lucky to have two decent mom and pops, can buy direct and TW picks up the rest.

Heck, as I kid I would buy my stuff at the hardware store.

I'm with you @Spankey, I frequent my local mom and pops as much as possible. My problem is the closest good mom and pop is 45 to 50 miles away. I've even toyed with the idea of opening a small shop, but I'm really enjoying being retired. There is one about 25 miles from my house, but good night Irene, they are crazy expensive. They also sell hunting equipment, guns and high end outdoor clothing. I'm thinking that is their "bread and butter", their fishing dept is just a small add on to keep a little money coming in. For me, BPS, FishUSA, Omnia, Academy and Scheels are easier unless we're planning a trip. I've tried TW twice. Shipping times were horrible and my card was compromised. That was it for me, but the with the amount of folks that speak highly of them here they must be doing something right. As in everything, to each his own.

I realize that the question is not directed to me but it doesn’t make any sense to come that way. Actually more expensive for them. Who cares what it cost them? Ok I can see that but if they were more efficient maybe they could pass that savings on to me. BPS in not cheap and overpriced for the most part. Not a full line dealer for any mfg’s anymore. It all depends how you look at it with BPS and Cabela’s.

I can answer this one since I manage a warehouse. With corporate UPS & FedEx accounts shipments are priced by weight, not size. When I ship ground packages our software doesn’t even require dimensions, just the weight. Obviously this doesn’t apply to freight shipments due to truck size requirements for the load.

It's a thing.

My last order from Scheels was shipped from three different stores, so arrived in three different packages.

Still was zero shipping charge since I'd bought more than $50 in that order.

I have nothing against Bass Pro in fact quite the opposite but I consider myself blessed to have 2 great mom and pop tackle shops about a half hour from my house.

I guess as long as you get your ****.in a timely fashion what’s the difference. But it’s a head scratcher.

I will add my two cents. Where I live there is a Cabela's 45 minutes away but it’s a quick 45 minutes so I don’t mine the drive. I like BPS but like Cabela’s better for going in person. When it come to ordering on line, I haven’t had a problem with either one. I do like ordering from TW and haven’t had problems with getting the package to late. To me as long as I get my fishing stuff it’s a great day. Have a blessed day
