flipin4bass Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Here's mine mounted on a tripod base attatched to 1/2" pvc/caps and scotty rod holder base. There's also a shorter mount on the front visible in the bottom picture. It's fully adjustable left to right and up and down. Quote

I have one mounted on my center console area done the same way, PVC, it fits perfect in the scotty mounts! Quote

flipin4bass Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Hey Jason. This video explains the type of pvc caps used to make this mount. However, using a regular threaded bolt to attatch the camera may mess up the threads on your camera if you do not use the proper thread count. I removed the base from a camera tripod which will be attatched using its own threaded screw and used this screw to fix the camera base to the threaded pvc cap. Pick up a cheap table tripod from WalMart and you'll see what I'm talking about. When you use a base from a camera tripod you'll be able to adjust the camera and the length of the pvc pipe will not have to be exact. Important:Use self-tapping screws and marine grade silicone to attatch the Scotty rod mount to your kayak. Ive also included another picture showing a camera mount I removed from another table tripod I purchased from WalMart. Quote

At first I wanted it in the back but now I'm thinking it'd be better having it facing me. Quote

The less holes in the boat the better though is the way I'm thinking. haha But yeah it's mine, it's a Jackson Coosa. The first thing I bought for it was a Kodak playsport, and I still haven't got it set up on the kayak yet. Since I bought that I've installed a fish finder and set up a dog leash with an anchor so I really need to hurry and get the camera set up. Quote
