Just went and looked at a new Tacoma.   It was nice. Poked my head into the next generation of Tundra and it totally blew a cool and delightful breeze up my pant legs.  It was spectacular!!!

For me as long as the engine and tranny are performing optimally i drive mine untill the floorboard rusts through. I own a 2004 honda civic and am very pleased with it.

Todays cars along with the civic have CVT transnissions and i am not a fan of cvt and its steel lined belt. Also to much electronics inside the car and now electric parking brakes which is just to much tech that can fail.

I will always buy used going back a few model years to avoid the cvt, the turbos and electronics.

My 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 QC 4x4 with 177K is showing what 14 years of driving in winter and road salt will do to steel. But the drivetrain is perfectly sound and it still runs like a champ. No truck payment in over 13 years (bought in 2007 with only 19K on the odo) is a beautiful thing.

I like to buy new and drive them until they fall apart.  Right now my 2017 is at 95600 and still going strong.

I’ve never had luck buying used so it’s new for me when needed, needed being defined as no longer reliable. The day a vehicle strands me is the day I start shopping for its replacement.

I take good care of my vehicles so 12 or so years and roughly 140k miles is fairly normal, getting rid of the old is when I give them away to friends or family that is in need of an old car. Living in MA with no garage, they don’t last forever.

First new vehicle I ever bought is a 1992 Jeep Wrangler.  I bought it when we lived in Massachusetts and have had it ever since.  Basic maintenance and taught my daughter to drive a stick in it.  She took it to college and is still driving it Currently 450,000 miles and still running like a top.  Body is going to fall off before she will ever get rid of it. Bought my first brand new truck a couple of years after I started the guide service a 2004, 3/4 ton Silverado.  Drove it until I bought my current truck a 2016 Silverado High Country.  The 2004 had 175,000 miles on it when traded.  My current truck just rolled 80,000 and we replaced the brakes/rotors, brake fluid and rear shocks.  Other than regular maintenance that’s all I have done.  I also have a 2002 Lexus SC430 v8 convertible for a fun car, it has 275,000 miles.  I am a firm believer in the saying that if you treat them right, they’ll treat you right.

I converted my old lawnmower into a street legal car. It may just come down to that. My deceased granpa drove his srx 70 john deere lawnmower around town to the grocery store. The cops stopped him and told him no more so he bought an electric scooter.

Is the leaf bagger still on the back?!  And the mowing deck is still mounted underneath!  Ditch those yard attachments and you might have something on your hands throttle.

I have an 08 Tundra, bought it in 2014 w/46k on it. Has 160k now and I cant find a reason to get rid of it.....other than I'd like something a little newer. I'll run it for another year or so and pass it on to my son when he can drive.....then daddy gets a new toy lol.

Paid less for the new one.

I found this to be true too.  I was primarily a slightly used vehicle kind of auto buyer until recently.  New ones cost less than used ones right now.  Kind of ridiculous.

It has to be for grip. The gurney flap on the lid of the bagger helps straighten out the airflow.
