I seen it on one of the pages where it was done, but no detail on what one works. It's for the Pelican 10e Your 10e doesn't have drain plugs for each sponson? Okiefisher29 Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Tell me everything yall know about trailer wheel bearings.  I'm trying to inspect this trailer I got with my Bass Hound 10.2.   Have no clue how to tell if the are good, bad, the wrong kind, etc.  Thanks in advance. Quote

It has everything to do with draining the hull. They used to come with drains. Just a pain to turn the boat on its side to get the water out of seating area. Quote

Never seen one with a drain for the "hull". Most people use a submersible pump to vacate water while in use, if not in use, then they just dump it out. 2 hours ago, Okiefisher29 said: Tell me everything yall know about trailer wheel bearings.  I'm trying to inspect this trailer I got with my Bass Hound 10.2.   Have no clue how to tell if the are good, bad, the wrong kind, etc.  Thanks in advance.  1 Quote

At least mine does but its probably 10 to 12 years old. The new ones I dont know. Quote

With the design of the 10e, I imagine it would be pretty difficult. 1 Quote
etex Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I just bought a new Pelican Raider 10E this week with a trailer from Harbor Freight. Â Started working on putting a carpeted floor and a rudder on it today. Â Hope to get to the lake later tomorrow. Â Tried to load some pictures but they are all too large. Â Help? Quote
jtipton91 Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Got my rudder and transducer all ready to go this weekend. Love this little boat. 1 Quote
etex Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 How do  you load pictures?  All of mine taken with the Iphone showed to be too large yet I see these large photos and even movies loaded. Quote

Do you have Facebook? I've been uploading them to FB (which condenses then down I guess) then I pull the pic up on FB that I want and save it to my phone then upload it to Bassresource. All pics I've done that with have successfully uploaded. Quote
etex Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Thanks Advantage! Â My wife has Facebook. Â I may have to try that. 1 Quote
etex Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Has any one tried the Command Adhesive strip hangers in their boat for hold downs as opposed to drilling holes in the boat?  I tried some   today for holding the paddle under the seat against the side of the boat under the chair.  Got the carpet done on the floor and the rudder made now just have to finish the electrical for the TM.  I think I will get one of those Minn Kota battery boxes for the back hook up that has the circuit breakers and a couple of 12v sockets for lights or phone charge. 1 Quote
wnspain Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Tried those adhesive strips a while back, no success. Quote

Try Gorilla Glue, I used it to install some clips for running the transducer cable along the gunwale so it's up and out of the way. Quote

I wouldn't sweat drilling a few holes. I installed a couple rod holders with zero problems. I through bolted them with a sleeve to prevent collapsing the side wall and sealed it with a dab of Marine sealant. 1 Quote

The seam underneath the rub rail is not sealed (stapled actually) and that why the sponsons can take in water.  IMO, any small mounting holes you put above the seam are pretty insignificant but some don't like to do it for some reason. 2 Quote
Tommy X Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Don't sweat drilling holes and attaching accessories. Use rivits made for kayaks and some sealant, no worries. I just picked up this sweet trailer for $500. It's a 2012 and was only used once. It came with a jet ski and the guy I bought it from had a double trailer that he used for his family. He needed it out of his garage. I should have the bunks for the BR done by the and of the week. 2 Quote

The one I got is 4 foot wide and 8 foot long and works great for my boat.  I believe my boat is right at 4 foot wide on the top side but it seems to narrow towards the bottom of the "pontoons".  However, my boat is older so the dimensions may not be the same as yours. The trailer pulls really well and is extremely light weight. It is a little tricky to back up since it is so short. I have considered putting a carpeted floor on it but if I'm using it strictly to haul my boat I figured what's the point. The boat sits on the cross rails just fine and I use ratchet straps to hold it down. I even mounted a Rubbermaid type box to the tongue area that holds my anchor and some other odds and ends. Just joined and first post. Interested in getting into one of these and concerned about trailer with short tongue as you described. Could a receiver extension possibly reduce the difficulty in backing? Do you have a 10ft boat and if so does the extra length interfere with balance or turning? Are you using the fold up trailer from HF?  Quote
therivermonster Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I was able to get out early this past weekend for a a few hours of fishing on my usual lake again. It was nice a dark when I got started. I'm not sure how yall night fisherman do it when it's dark. How do you see where you're throwing? Anyhow, I promised pictures of the little table once it was finished, so here it is in all of its orange glory. I started the morning off using a buzz bait which caught one 8 incher, and had a few more hits. From there it was on to the poppers which took one fish, then the X Rap. The morning bite had gone much slower than I had expected. I had ordered some Keitech stuff from Tackle Warehouse a couple weeks back, but had yet to try any of it, so I figured with the bite slow anyhow, I might as well try it out. I used one of their weedless jig heads with a 4" Swing Impact swim bait. You can see the jig head and the bait on the table above. Once it was rigged up, I gave it a quick little throw off the boat to see what all the fuss was about with the action of this bait. Well, I guess the fuss is warranted because this first cast which wasn't even meant to catch a fish was slammed on the drop by a nice little LM. After this it was fish after fish on this rig. I also rigged up one of the Keitech Easy Shiners which did catch fish, but not nearly as many as the Swing Impact. Two things are for sure. These Keitech swim baits do catch fish, and they are fragile. I think the most fish I was able to catch on one of the 4" Swing Impacts was four of five. I've ordered some Mend It glue to patch them back up once they get torn up. We'll see how it works. At any rate, it was a good day of fishing with lots of fish around. Alright friends. Until next time... 3 Quote
etex Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Do those of you using a fish finder have it connected to the main battery that also runs your TM or do you use a separate battery? I had thought of running wires from the main battery in the back under the flooring that I installed to the front for the fish finder but I noticed a number of folks using separate batteries for the fish finder. Thanks, Quote
therivermonster Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I use a separate small gel cell battery. Using the same battery can cause interference with your graph as far as I understand. 1 Quote

benjyw44 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Okay Bass Raider owners...  I'm a newb to the boat and will be picking one up in the next week or so. Can you please help me understand the best way to mount accessories to the body?  It's a plastic boat and I'm afraid to strip out screws by just turning them into the plastic. Maybe it's thicker and more durable than I think it really is.  I've heard rivets are great options, but I've seen the accessories that Tfultz100 has mounted on his boat (drink holders, oar clamps, electronic mounts, etc) and they look like they're all just screwed in?  I don't understand how a rivet could fit into screw holes without it ending up a loose mount it the head isn't as big as the intended screw. What kinds of screws are being used?  If you'd recommend rivets, can you let me know what to buy?  I'm sorry for the lack of general knowledge. I just want to make sure I end up with sturdy accessories while avoiding turning my new toy into a Frankenstein mash up. Thanks all.., Quote
