There are countless other examples in the thread of similar projects. I did see that atomicchicken, but that was a different boat and was built up 3-4". I was just curious if anyone had done it for the bass raider, and with a flat bottom. I wondering if the seats would be stable enough and if there were any complications from it. Quote

Yeah there's a few here and there in this thread showing off pictures of the bass raider with carpet over plywood floors and pedestal seating. Makes for a nice upgrade. Quote
givey Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Can you mount a normal TM to the front of these? I believe they have a mount but i dont know much about TMs and i am not sure if it has to be ine of those foot control jobs or not. thx Quote
wnspain Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 What do mean by "normal" TM? Is a normal TM tiller controlled, or foot controlled, and is it a bow mount or transom mount? I have both foot and tiller controlled but both are transom mount. BTW - Both work beautifully but the foot control is up front and the tiller is in the back. Do not always mount both depending on planned trip Quote
givey Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I guess i am old enough to recall a time prior to foot control so i was talking about tiller controlled but i could not think of the correct term. Can a tier moint TM be mounted up front? It is less exspensive than trying to get a foot control unit as mu first one and i think from whatni have read it will be easier to control these little plastic pond boats. thoughts? Quote
wnspain Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 You can mount a tiller controlled TM with a transom mount up front, no problem. You just have to unbolt the control unit and reposition it 180 from where it was before (assuming that your TM is designed to mount with tiller facing fwd). Quote

The model that bought was GTTL175-12 I plan on installing these with rivits. They are made for kayaks but I think it they should translate well to The PBR Quote
jitterbug127 Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I put two flush mount ones on today. Had to drill through some of the foam in haul hope all is still good. I'll find out soon enough Quote
johnkn Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Pics or it didn't happen. Lol Looking for anything to help make it through this winter. Quote

Perhaps I overdid the "worn" hull. I mean it has alot of scraps but nothing appears to be too bad. Usually Im loading/unloading it myself. The worst part of it is to get it from where I have to store it to the pickup is about 75ft of grass where I have to tilt it on to its side to fit through the gate. I tend to park about 10ft up the ramp and then drag it the rest of the way, maybe Ill just try and get as close to the water as possible to reduce dragging. Thank you guys again for your suggestions. If it would help I could get some pictures of the bottom and you guys could let me know if its anything I need to be worried about? Try to epoxy these to the bottom. That should reduce drag a little bit. Quote

jitterbug127 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Sorry they are sideways. Made rudder, put in rod holders, paddle holders. Also risers 1 Quote

I need 1/4 inch for the rivets to hold the geartrac. So that would be the thickness of the geartrac plus the thickness of the plastic combined. I might need a aluminium plate to act as a spacer if the plastic is too thin. just curious Quote
jitterbug127 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I'd say it is thinner than a quarter inch Quote
johnkn Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Come on guys, it's freezing here on the East Coast, everyone post a few pics of your boats to warm us up. LoL. Thanks..... 1 Quote
68dave Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 New member here from Baltimore. I just bought myself a new Pelican 10e today to take with me on camping trips. I didn't even know these great lil boats existed until i saw one yesterday listed on CL, that one was sold. Luckily a local Dick's had one in stock. I was considering a fishing kayak but as soon as i started reading this thread last night i had to have one. And my wife didn't mind because the Pelican was hundreds cheaper than the kayak i was gonna buy. Plus unlike the kayak she can go out on the lakes with me now, sometimes lol. My wife and I camp at state parks with our little Casita camper and a lot of the state park campgrounds have stocked lakes. At these campgrounds i see a lot of kayaks & conoe's, i'm surprised i've never seen one of these lil boats before. Thanks for having me, i have a bunch more reading to do here! I have pics but for some reason i can't post'em. 1 Quote
johnkn Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Hi, I'm in southern Md. Curious of the price at Dicks. Did you have to pay any shipping charges? Shipping can sometimes be a killer, I believe these are manufactured in Canada. Thanks Quote

Shipping can sometimes be a killer, I believe these are manufactured in Canada. Thanks I bought mine at Dick's last spring. It was in stock but not on display. They have a spring boating sale in April. I got $100 off plus another 10% off for opening a credit card. The next month I got a $20 credit from their rewards program. Free tackle! If you can wait for that sale, it's a good deal. Quote
johnkn Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Wondering though if shipping is factored into the in-store price. If I go to Dicks.com the boat is $699 plus $381 (gulp) shipping. What did you guys pay for boats that are in stock at the store? Thanks Quote
68dave Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 In store so no shipping charges.. Cost $699. I looked online for a better price but a lot of seller's were "out of stock" and the shipping charges killed the deal for the ones in stock. Only one Dick's in Md. had one in stock. Luckily it was only 20min drive for me so i ran up and bought it yesterday morning. Little over $200 for shipping if i would've purchased online. Quote
Airman4754 Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Do you guys know of any bow mount TM's with a foot pedal that will fit on one of these? I thought the MotorGuide Bulldog would, but it appears to be a transom mount with a foot pedal. I want to get the 8' Sun Dolphin, but if I can't do a bow mount I don't want one. Quote
