Nice looking setup - have you thought about making a rudder for it?   Makes a world of difference.  Took my sundolphin sportsman 8' out today - caught a few crappie and one LM.

Yep.. it's next on my to-do list.  Definitely needs one.  Not sure how I'm going to do it yet.  I have an old, broken trolling motor.  I may cut the controls off that and screw something in to the shaft.  I haven't found anything laying around that I could make the rudder part out of.  Still tossing around ideas.

My dad has a bracket screwed in to the back of his that he just slips one of the collapsible paddles in to.  It works great, but I don't really want to screw anything in to the hull on the outside like that.

My photos still not like the rest.   Hmmmmmm  Click on album to see a better photo.

I store most of my photos on photobucket or fb and just insert them with a link.

Thanks, I will try it.

Does anyone have an opinion or experience with a rudder that mounts on the shaft of the TM? I have the motor up front and found this on ebay. It seems like it might be more convenient than trying to fabricate one for the rear myself.

Nice job on the rudder Trackercal.  I'm sure I could rig something up if I can find an old paddle - but what'd you use to attach the paddle to the PVC?

Anybody know if Academy will refund the difference in the sale price and normal price i paid a month or so ago? I know harbor freight does this within so many days. Seems like some of the outdoor stores do as well.

Take your slip to the store and find out. It is worth a shot.

Thanks, Gorilla glue.  Had to sand the  paddle shaft to fit a 3/4" pvc fitting.  Used a drill with sand paper. If you have an old electric trolling motor you can also use the transit bracket.  See page # 26 he has a great idea for a shelf / storage area using 1/2" pvc.

Thanks Slugbug for the heads up on the price Academy.  Picked up one today.  The last one in town. I've been waiting 30 years to pull the trigger.

I am going to mount a trolling motor front and rear.  And mount a plexiglass rudder to the rear trolling motor shaft.

I remember somewhere In the 82 pages there was someone talking about putting stickers for boat registration on the Bass Raider and what you needed to do. I would appreciate any advice.

I cleaned the area with alcohol, then heated the plastic with a blow dryer before each number was stuck on, then heated it again with the blowdryer. Then I covered each number with a little Marine Goop.
