Another option is on some sort of PVC that you can raise and lower. Quote

KLoell Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I remember seeing someone mounting their transducer to an old trolling motor they dissmanteled and mounted it where the motor and prop used to be.  I tried searching through the pages to find a pic but no luck.  I was curious to see if any of you have mounted their depth finder the same way and could you possibly post a few pics? Thanks in advance! Toallhisdoom Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I bought a bass raider with no paper work. Anyone know how I can get it registered in ny? Want to put a motor on it and go to kinderhook and saratoga with it. Quote

If it has registration numbers (stickers) on it, in some states you can simply use that number to request a copy of the registration associated with that number. Quote
Bubbadogg1 Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 I just picked up my first Bass Raider 10e from Field & Stream. Regular price $699 but they offered me the floor model at a discounted price AND a 10% vets discount for a final price of $324.99! I have never registered a new boat before. Evidently I need the "manufacturers statement of origin (MSO)". They didn't give me anything but the boat, seats and sales receipt. Is there some sort of owners manual that should be included? Quote
RLP Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Yes there is a owners manual with a page Manufacturers Declaration of Origin. It has fields to enter your boats info and is what you need to register. You might be able to print the manual from he link below or simply contact customer service to have them send you one. Good luck and enjoy the boat. http://www.pelicansport.com/sites/default/files/docs/ip1297-4_owner_manual_fishingboat.pdf Quote

Davidgm_2000 Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Hello All, Â I've been considering getting a Bass Raider 10E, while browsing around last night i noticed a listing for a Sun Dolphin Sportsman 10 listed at Home depot for the same price. Just wondering if anybody would have the pros and cons between the two? Quote
Davidgm_2000 Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Great, now I spotted a used Pond Prowler within about 1 1/2 hour drive away. More to consider. Quote

It’s just 3/4 inch plywood. It’s really sturdy for now as I just recently built it but I’ve been thinking I should probably put some type of support underneath it. I can jump up and down on it like it is and it doesn’t move but I’m afraid it might weaken in time. 1 Quote
Canam13 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Hello all, I want to put 1 or 2 drains (front&back) in the inside of my BR10e, to make it easier to remove water from inside the boat. I've read that the floor is higher than water line, so sealing should be easy. Would anyone know how thick the floor is, so I can buy the proper thru-hull or bulkhead fitting? I am also considering using a 1" ID size fitting for the drain and using the drain as a through point for a shallow water anchor spike. Anyone ever try or accomplish that on their BR? Quote
Bassin' Brad Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 I just picked up my Pelican Bass Raider 10E last from academy. Looking forward to rigging it up and posting some pics! 2 Quote

OhheyCindy Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 how hard is it to control these things? say if you are throwing a crankbait is the boat turning and pulling while you reel? i have a little 10 foot kayak and i get so frustrated, i cant even throw a spinnerbait without re positioning every cast. Quote
OCdockskipper Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Since they weigh less than a full fledged bass boat, it takes less to make these boat turn, however they aren't as bad as a kayak or canoe. One thing that makes a big difference when throwing moving baits as well as controlling the boat is adding a rudder to the back (when you have the electric in the front).  On my boat, only the deepest diving crankbaits tend to turn my bow a little, everything else has a negligible effect. Noelprinceofdarkness Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Hello,  Enjoyed everyone's contribution to the Forum. Love seeing all the Ideas. I bought a Sun Dolphin Sportsman 8ft recently from Home Depot. They price match anywhere and have free shipping right now. Can't wait for it to come in. Have a small 30lb minn kota to push me around. Ordered a Garmin Striker 4 for it too. Being New here I've skimmed over most of the Forum and have a question. Has anyone ever tried to use the Scotty transducer mount off the side of the boat? Is it long enough to submerge the transducer?  Also anyone tried making the whole boat a standing platform? No seats just turning it into a motorized stand up paddleboard pretty much? Using the original floor to store things? This is my plan. When its done ill upload some pictures. Quote
Cory Doras Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 Hey guys, Got a few questions about these lil boats. 1) There seems to be a few brands but all look similar except the cockpit layout. Is one better than the other? 2) How stable are they? I want to do some stand up spin fishing and some fly fishing. Im getting old and wobbly .  I got a bass boat now but I've always seen these things and thought they would be awesome for small ponds and places where gas motors are not allowed. Thanks Quote
Biggz53 Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 What’s the wire gauge size for the pre wired pelicans?  the TM I have comes with a lead of 6 gauge, I think the pelican is 8 but can’t find confirmation anywhere.  I just want to make sure I got the right size but connector to put the TM to the pre wired plug Quote
Biggz53 Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 Also has anyone found a good way to patch the ram x material?  I’ve tried it all with no luck, finally just ordered a plastic welder to try that. Quote
