coachfozz Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Not a pelican boat, but this is what I did to my Sea Eagle SE8. 2 Quote
Mr.Victor Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Looks ver similar to what I did to my Mariner 4 before I got my Bass Raider. 1 Quote

Yeah, that is a nice looking boat there as well. Like your Raider as well. I really enjoy my boat. My buddy and I (500 plus pounds) can get around mine pretty well. 1 Quote
Tommy X Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Just installed built in rod holders. That's one bad thing about the BR. No rod storage. I might install 2 more up front but that can wait. I'm putting cleats on tomorrow. I'm tearing up the bottom of this thing on boat ramps so I'll have to lauch like the big boys and tie it up to the dock instead of getting in and shoving off. 2 Quote

Nice job...looks clean...but just a heads up there are two built in rod holders at the front of the boat. Quote

Tommy, mind if I ask where you purchased the holders from and what brand/model? I want to install front & back in my BR also, nice job! Quote

I also made an extra gasket out of 1/4" thick rubber I picked up at the hardware store. So it would conform to the boats curvature a little better. Used marine sealant on the whole thing. 1 Quote
Chowderhead Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 What a great thread - read it from start to finish, and now cannot wait to make some modifications to my Bass Raider 10E. Picked it up used (brand new - sat in guy's garage collecting dust) with sealed trolling motor, life vests, paddle, and a few other assorted goodies for $500.00 Only hassle I had was getting it registered with the State of Nebraska. Ugh! Now that is behind me, already have made a couple of trips and caught some nice ones. Looking forward to some fall fishing. 2 Quote
jeffo21 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I finally finished my trailer for my 10e and I love not having to load and unload my boat by hand now. just back in and unload like a big boat and load the same way. I also put my upgraded boat seats on it also caught the bass boat seats on sale not long ago and got 2 of the nice real thick padded seats on it now also. 4 Quote

I too have a trailer but find it very difficult to load onto the trailer like the big boys without an outboard. I have my trolling motor mounted on the bow. Only took me a once of forgetting to raise it as I rolled up on the trailer. Now I find myself just beaching it near the ramp and pulling it up on the trailer with a rope. Curious to know your loading procedure. Quote
jeffo21 Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I back in and run it up on the bunk boards and then winch it the rest of the way. it's easier for me with the motor on back. Quote
d-camarena Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Just got this, i got a question for you guys. What tackle storage bags/ boxes/ systems do you use for these small boats? 2 Quote

I've got the Basshound 9.4 and I just bring my soft side tackle bag that holds 6 totes and set it in the middle between the 2 seats. I can lay 3 to 4 rods on each side. And I can stand and cast/flip/pitch and run the trolling motor. 3 Quote

I have a old 1980's 8' basshunter and I use the same type bag/plano's as advantage,... mine takes 4 plano's and holds the essentials IE: pliers, sunglasses, scents, lineclippers etc.,.. But my boat I can take one of the seats away, and I put the bag under the seat i use.,..Seems like this tackle solution is just right Quote

This battery is so small it fits in the compartments on the top rail of the boat. I promise you it will keep your fish finder charged for WEEKS before you have to recharge it. You will also be able to get more time off your trolling motor without having the fish finder hooked to the same battery. This was a great buy for my Bass Raider. http://store.humminbird.com/products/322329?product_id=1bc69a6425bfe786d569f9e9b9fef16e Midnight, I couldn't find the battery your talking about, could you send a pic ? Perche06 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Hey, I'm new this site. I just bought a Pelican 10E and was wanting to set it up with rod holders, fish finder, transducer, oar holders, and looking for ideas on where to mount the these items. I am a visual person and would welcome advise and any pictures you might have of your setup !! Quote

Now that I have had my 10E for a month now, I plan on going back through all the posts again. Enjoy! Quote
Gary Hackworth Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Bought A Shorelander jet ski trailer, 55 lb TM, and New padded camo seats fo my 10' pelican. I'm ready to hit the water soon, Lots of mods to do, but its been fun. I had a 30 lb motor but felt it wasn't powerful enough. Quote
jeffo21 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 you will like the 55 TM Gary. I had a 36lb TM on mine and upgraded to a Minn Kota 50 and really like the way it moves my raider now. Quote
"hamma" Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 since you guys have different boats than mine, Im wondering if you are now using both motors. I use 2 on my boat as I have the room for 2 batteries and can reach both motors from my single seat, as I can put the seat anywhere. With that said,.. its a godsend using 2 motors. If you can, try it. Quote
nimbus2065 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Mod's I made to my 8' Sun Dolphin. Has made it much more enjoyable to fish out of. 3 Quote
