The micro weighs I think seven pounds just the unit. The pole probably weighs 5 or so pounds. Its virtually no extra weight and locks down my 15 foot Jon boat with a big 4 stroke on the back. The nice part is I can order the clamp bracket and slap it onto my perch when I use that within less than a minute.

I tried to post pictures of em but it says file is too big. They are extremely small and I have the clamp mount attached to mine. Literally takes 15 seconds to attach and slide the pole in.

Just purchased a beat up 9 foot older faded, sun cracked, cracked hull, I think it's a Pond Prowler floating turd. What I need is a seat bracket. The one I have is 26" across and fits in the grooves nice and snug. If anyone knows where I can get another for a good deal I would much appreciate it. The boat is kept on a private pond and I don't worry too much about what she looks like as long as she floats, I only paid $30 for her. I leave the boat at the pond so others can use it and enjoy the great bass fishing. So as you can tell I don't want to invest a lot of money on this one but would like another seat. Any ideas or information on where I could get one of these brackets? I have seen the ones at Bass Pro Shops for $39 plus $8 plus shipping. I don't wish to spend that much on this boat. Thanks, I have enjoyed the threads and photos on these boats. You guys have some ingenuity going.

Hawgmaster: When I needed a plug for my floating turd, I measured across the ID of the plug opening and then went to my local boat supply shop and bought a 5/8" plug. They usually design these plugs for live wells and such. I removed the whole assembly and took it in to be sure. They showed me how to adjust it and it fit like a glove.

So the time has come. I just picked up a Gheenoe and I have too many boats. My garage is getting crowded and the Bass Raider is being neglected so I will be finding a new home for her soon. She was a great first boat and I will miss her. If anyone is in SW Florida and interested hit me up because she will be going on craigslist after the weekend.

Yes. Single handedly most awesome thing you can put on there. There are days I wouldn't even be able to fish without it. Storm blew in. 32 mph winds. Solid as a rock.

Is that the anchor you have on yours or a rudder on the transom?

It is the rudder. I have it on a hinge so it kicks up if it hits anything and for when I beach it.

I am going to buy a Sun dolphin sportsman 8footer.  I am wanting to mount a 40lb trolling motor in the front adn then mount my transducer on the trolling motor.  Are there any problems i might encounter with putting the motor up there?  How about mounting the transducer on the trolling motor??

I have an 8ft dolphin with a 55 on the front with no problems. I mounted my transducer on the bottom of my rudder on the rear and ran the wire on the top of the rub rail with some clips from Home Depot and it works like a champ with my motor up front was worried about banging up the transducer to much. I can post some pics tonight if you'd like.

I have the same boat and have a 55lb mounted on the bow - since they didn't put a steal mounting plate on the bow like they did in the stern I took two small pieces of sheet metal and mounted them and then mount the TM to that.  Works great - also have a bigfoot switch on the pilewood floor I put in - let's me control it but I still have to steer with my hand.  Through out this thread I have posted pictures if you can sort through the pages and find them - if not hit me up on IM and I can share them - I have done lots of mods to my boat.

Here are some photos of some of what I've done with my Dolphin.  Included a pic of the clips I used to run my transducer wire and my new tackle storage.

Minnow,

Can you please post a close up picture of how you have attached these quick clips?

I tried to use something similar with double-sided sticky tape but it came off after a season or two. I think the composition of my BassBaby hull did not allow the tape to adhere very well. I am considering using a screw but prefer to avoid putting screws into it.

The clips have a peel and stick back. You have to lightly heat the plastic where you stick it and they adhere nicely.
