Bomber7 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Anyone else not allowed to upload pictures? I guess pictures aren't loading today. Quote
BassMasterOkie Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 WELL I REALIZE THIS QUESTION MOST LIKELY HAS BEEN ASKED BEFORE... IF GIVEN THE CHOICE BASS RAIDER OR BASS HUNTER? SEEMS TO BE SOME PRICING DIFFERENCES. I'M GOING DOWN THIS WEEK OR NEXT TO BUY EITHER BRAND IN 10FT. THANKS Quote
flacrawdad23 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I ended up buying a Basstender 11.3, it has more room for a good size deck. You can see my pic on page 54, more stable for me. Quote
shawnmc Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Just picked up a new 10E this morning. Does anyone use or think a kayak cart like the one in the link would work to transport the boat a little ways and help with loading/unloading in my truck? http://www.amazon.com/Malone-Clipper-Deluxe-Universal-Kayak/dp/B004GYYY1W/ref=pd_sbs_sg_1 Quote

pawnature Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 What size anchors are you guys using, and having good results with? I've had several occasions were I wished I'd had and anchor, but can't decide on what size/shape to get. Thought I'd ask others. I use a gallon or gallon and half jug filled with sand. I do a lot of river fishing and if it hangs all I've lost is a jug of sand. 2 Quote
badsters Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I got the major cuts all done at Lowes but did the rest myself, quite enjoyable at that!! Great pics thanks for sharing. Being so much higher than the floor, do the platforms make the boat "top heavy? It appears you sit maybe 1 - 1.5 feet higher then standard seats? Thanks in advanced. Quote
BassMasterOkie Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 ANY THOUGHTS ON THE BEST FISHFINDER TO PURCHASE WHEN I PURCHASE MY PELICAN? I REALIZE GIVEN THE DEPTH I'LL MOST OFTEN BE FISHING DETAILS MAY LACK... Quote

THANKS I like the bass hunter its pre wired for running lights has a livewell aerated and mine is rated for a 7 hp motor and I like its deep well to keep it more stable just depends on what you want to spend. I have both one just for pond ( bass raider) and the other I can take on small lakes(bass hunter). Quote
BassMasterOkie Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 I got the major cuts all done at Lowes but did the rest myself, quite enjoyable at that!! GREAT JOB ON THE SEATS... I'M HOPING TO DO SOMTHING JUST LIKE IT WHEN I GET MINE IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I MAY HIT YOU UP FOR THE MEASUREMENTS IF YOU DONT MIND? Quote
oldfoggy Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Larger attachment size???? I see the site now allows you to attach 750K to a post. This is a big jump from the 150K they previously allowed. Does anyone have information about this increase in file attachment size? This increase to 750K allows much better detail in a photo. I hope they stay with this. Quote
Bomber7 Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 OK broke down this weekend and decided to put a floor in - didn't take long - just went to Lowe's with my measurements (had to purchase a full sheet of plywood since they didn't have any project pieces) got the piece I needed cut out and have some extra plywood now - got some marine carpet they had which matched the color of my boat (gray). Stapled it down nice and tight. I put two handles on the front part so I could lift it in and out if needed. I'll install some tie down points for my milk crate and battery later. 1 Quote

I had considered a floor for my Basshunter but after having my boat totally swamped this weekend twice by ski boats one a large lake I have now changed my mind. On the bright side I learned my boat still floats just fine when full of water!!!! Quote

shawnmc Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Took my 10E out today for the first time. Loaded and unloaded it in the back of my truck with no real problems. I will still like some sort of dolly/wheels for the back to help. The boat was very stable, much more than the 10ft and 12ft Tracker jon boats I had. No mods yet although I may add a floor to help with standing. Quote
tfultz Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 With a Little help from a friend I was finally able to get a picture of my boat on here. Thanks again oldfoggy!! Its not the best picture.. 3 Quote

Thanks again oldfoggy!! Its not the best picture.. That looks amazing man! I like the paddles on the side. How do you go about stowing your rods in the 8 footer? I am trying to make something to store them on the sides, but coming up short? Quote

I am trying to make something to store them on the sides, but coming up short? I've been trying to come up with a way to store rods since I bought it new in 2009. Like you I haven't found a good way. I'm really picky when it comes to mounting stuff to my boat. Has got to be functional, not in the way and pleasing to the eye. If you come up with an idea let me know!! Quote

I like the idea of the handles, took mine out this weekend twice and got the floor soaked on Friday, found them Saturday morning warped really bad, so what I did was soaked them again, laid them flat on the ground in the sun and parked my Silverado right on them, and they are now straight as an arrow, just a little advice if you get them wet and they head to the warping way! Its not too bad, as long as whoever you are with aren't trying to do gymnastics on the boat you should be fine, I measured it out in comparison to the "stock" seat and im only 5 inches higher, it just looks higher since its a pedestal instead of the old bar system. Thanks for the tip Tim - didn't glue it down just the staples - where can I get the glue at - didn't check Lowes when I was there. Quote
