Hey,

When plugging in my foot pedal to my Minn Kota trolling motor and screwing the connectors together, the connector kind of broke.

Trolling motor is a 45lb Powerdrive V2.

The 7 pin connector out of the trolling motor is what broke, where there is sort of a retaining ring that keeps the threaded part on the plug.

In one of my pictures you can see the black ring that broke off the body of the plug.

The connection with the o-ring keeps it sealed, so it would be nice to fix this.  I will have to tape it for now if going in the salt.

I called Minn Kota to see if I could get a replacement cord, but it comes as part of the control board.

Epoxying the retaining ring would risk the threaded ring getting stuck to it because the threaded ring will not slide back over the cable.

Any ideas on fixing this?

How it's supposed to look all together:

If the plug is fairly snug without the ring, use dielectric grease to keep it water proof.

I've had to do it on an RV where the ring broke and dielectric grease worked like a charm.

I would do as @Bird said and also use heat shrink.
