Phatbass54 Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Does anyone own this reel that can tell me the part number for the gear shaft ball bearing? I want to replace the bushing on my coastal 80 with a bearing. Quote
a1712 Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 I have the std. Tatula 80. That one is a std. knob bearing, 4x7x2.5. Brian. Quote
Phatbass54 Posted April 21, 2023 Author Posted April 21, 2023 I tried the handle bearing the inside diameter is too small won’t fit. Do you have the daiwa part number for that bearing? Quote

My TW80 is JDM and didn't come with a schematic. @Bass Rutten's might be usdm. Perhaps he'll add the info you need, or just take 10 minutes and pop it open and measure it. Are you fishing it in the salt? If so, why not just leave the bushing. If not, why not just leave the bushing? A bearing in that particular position won't be any smoother than a greased bushing. Phatbass54 Posted April 21, 2023 Author Posted April 21, 2023 Freshwater only, it’s my frog reel. Just replaced all bushing with bearings except that bearing under the gear shaft. Ended up finding schematics for it. Quote

Solution Phatbass54 Posted April 21, 2023 Author Solution Posted April 21, 2023 I was at a local tackle shop and only took a picture of the part I needed. But you can find it at plat.co.jp Quote
Bass Rutten Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Late but mine is jdm. But I’d be curious to know if all those bearings makes a difference. https://www.plat.co.jp/parts/DAIWA-BAITCAST/TATULA/TATULA-TW-80HL-00630114.pdf 1 Quote

Phatbass54 Posted April 22, 2023 Author Posted April 22, 2023 I was at a local tackle shop, and they had the 80 and I only took a picture of the part I was looking for with the part number. To be honest, I don’t really think you’ll notice a difference between a bearing and a bushing. The coastal 80 only has five bearings and it’s smooth. I’m just changing them out because I have the bearings on hand. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Best bet is to measure ID OD Width with calipers and order aftermarket bearings. You’ll get better grade bearing’s for less $. Quote
