We’ll, I’ve always dreamed of owning a G. Loomis rod since I started bass fishing about 10 years ago but they’ve always been out of my price range, finally my dream became a reality. I recently celebrated my 50th birthday and I treated myself with birthday money collected and bought a G. Loomis IMX PRO 844c MBR. I can’t wait for this rod to arrive and for fishing season to begin (we live way up North in Vermont). I plan on putting my Shimano Chronarch MGL on it and using it as my do everything rod ?. It’s been a long time coming and I’m super excited!!!

I have a few Edge rods….GL started this company. My Black Widow Drop Shot rod is amazing. It’s the lightest, most sensitive finesse rod I’ve experienced. I was using my St Croix ML Victory today with a ned rig and there is no comparison. The Edge BW DSR is so much better.

Great rod. I have the old version and I use it for all kinds of stuff.

I too turned 50 last year.  I got all kinds of gift cards but I also received an AARP membership card in the mail. It was sobering.

844 is the greatest rod, get an 843 and you got almost everything covered.

The 844c MBR is a very versatile stick which covers almost all techniques & species. I have used that rod successfully for lake trout & pike in northern Canada including a 38lb laker on the original 844 MBR IMX. It can handle baits well above its stated weight range but still casts 3/8 oz & 1/2 oz baits with no problem. You made a great choice.

Very nice and congrats!!

I upgraded an older E6X to the IMX Pro MBR 903C last summer and love it

the IMX Pro's are incredible rods.

I have mine paired with a Curado 200i and I use 12 pound Sufix Siege with it.

Only issue is now I want to try an IMX Pro in a spinning model too LOL

Check out the SJR series, they are like the spinning version of the MBR rods. Great tapers!

Disney hates you just as much as AARP. Just remember that.
