clipper Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Listed below is a link to a website that lists service stations selling ethanol free gas. It is a wewbsite that does not advertise or collect revenue, just a guy who wants to help boaters find ethanol free gas. I know that three of the locations listed, one of which is in my home town of Cartersville , do sell ethanol free gas. Anyone can add a location if they know of a station that isn't listed. If your outboard doesn't like gas with ethanol take a look at it. Ethanol is also bad for ATVs and lawn equipment. The link is set for the state of Georgia but you can click on your state in a menu bar at the top of the page. http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=GA 4 Quote
num3erz Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Awesome... I was looking for a site like this. My buddy is getting a boat and I was telling him about all the problems with the Ethanol gas. Great link!!! Quote
NateFollmer Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Nice site! They aren't listed but if anyone gets in the Central Pa area all of the Snedeker gas stations (some of them are Velaro's now) are all ethanol free also. 1 Quote

You can add them to the site yourself if you want. It might help someone else avoid motor damage. Quote
285xl Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 go figure, MA isn't even listed on there.... > Quote
ROCbass Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Can you even get ethanol free gas anymore? All the Kwik Fills in my area used to be ethanol free until the middle of last year, and now they're all 10% just like everywhere else. When we asked about it they said that it was a new law that the ethanol had to be in there, but I'm not sure if this is a federal or state law. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 12, 2011 Super User Posted March 12, 2011 Just a heads up. Our local neighborhood Marathon gas station is ethanol free in Erie PA. I understand most marathon gas stations are ethanol free. Quote
tkite16 Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Good lord I have been driving right by 2 stations with ethanol free gas to go to onej that isn't. :-/ Quote
nubasser Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 This is great to find ethanol free gas.just know this.I bought from a local store once that had ethanol free gas but it was cheap gas.I actually thought when I had mechanical troubles that there is no way my gas is bad and I knew the trouble was a fuel type issue. It ran like it was lean.Mechanic checked carbs lines filter fuel pump etc.He replaced some lines and primer. This fixed the problem only for a bit. When problem resurfaced he said u may just have bad gas.I put gas from a big name station.no more issues.Yes get ethanol free gas, but cheap gas is not a bargain.I'll use an additive in gas with ethanol before I will buy from that place again.I know of others who use it without issue though. Super User Sam Posted May 6, 2011 Super User Posted May 6, 2011 Outstanding information. If nothing else it removes a lot of locations from the list of places selling ethonol free gasoline so we will not waste time and energy trying to find a location. Thanks for posting. Quote

redboat Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Get yourself an ethanol test kit. I got one from POR-15: (This is NOT an ad or endorsement!!!) I take it with me when on the road; you can do an "on the spot" test in about five minutes. I tested gas in some of my local stations (the kit also measures water content, the component of "bad gas"). In GTexas the pumps are supposed to be labeled if they're using Ethanol in the gas. I found Exxon Premium in my area to be ethanol free (again, NOT an endorsement of Exxon!!!). I also use a lot of Sta-Bil. So far no problems - I keep my fingers crossed! Quote
redboat Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 has anybody tryed these new star brite stra tron enzyme fuel gas addative It says it will take care of our problems with ethanol gas KEN As I understand it, once the fuel separates and water settles out there is no additive that can return it to its opriginal state. If things go that far your only choice is draining the gas and throwing it out. Or donating to your brother-in-law with the hotrod Mustang. So, you are trying to keep it from separating in the first place. Quote
AQUA VELVA Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Motor heads at my marina said stay away from enzyme type gas treatments as they are nothing but trouble in a bottle. Don't know if thats true or not, just saying thats what I was told. Quote
Super User geo g Posted February 10, 2014 Super User Posted February 10, 2014 Florida also has a list of stations with non-ethanol fuel throughout the entire state. It is sometimes call recreational fuel and usually 90 octane. It is significantly more expensive but worth the cost in the long run. It is also not good to mix the two fuels. Almost all Marinas have non ethanol. Quote
Christian M Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 not one in NJ, that sucks Seriously...this really sucks, do the marinas in NJ have pure gas? Quote
Super User geo g Posted May 30, 2014 Super User Posted May 30, 2014 Seriously...this really sucks, do the marinas in NJ have pure gas? I think Marinas have ethonol free. Its expensive! Quote
RustyShackleford Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Local Coop has commercial pumps and we picked up a card for it. Priced 20c cheaper than any other station carrying it. Quote
billab9qu Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 What a handy site. Only one place here in Michigan City,In listed. I would think that being right on Lake Michigan with a large harbour, lots of boat trafic and even a Coast Guard station here in town there would be more. Glad to find out where one is. Being retired now I can't afford big repair bills on my 115 HP Opta Max caused by that junk. Quote

WPCfishing Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I have a station near me that sells it. I'd like to buy but not for $20.00 a gallon. I'll stick with marine Stabil... Quote
