i fully expected to have some fish-slime on my newest rod,, by now.  it is a travel version.   but some odd health thing where air refused to go thru my nose, grounded me.  haha.  mouth breathing isnt my thing.

anyway, tomorrow.  tomorrow evening should be the maiden voyage.  i will be in Oklahoma flinging 3/4 oz walking baits to stripers.  one week of real life testing.   i think after that, i may just keep it together, and jab it into one of my kayak rod holders and harass some local LMB with it.  i assume i might need to take it apart occasionally so it wont lock together?

then later in the year, the real test.  Amazon River Peacocks.  so i dont want to break it during the year.

anyone more full timing their travel gear?   ( i just pulled reels from my home arsenal for the trips - i am not buying trip dedicated reels)

Rod is my MegaBass Triza Dragoon.

I have a few 4 piece BFS travel rods that I use on a regular basis. I originally bought them just to have when I want to go places that I can’t easily take my one piece rods, but I enjoyed using them enough that I now use them full time.

I should probably do this. I have a few travel rods for Mexico, but they’ve only been used once. One of them is a Fenwick Methods that is a really sweet rod. I should put it to use this year

I used my shaula 6.6" 4pcs rod as everyday rod for pond hopping from 2015 up to this year when I got my Dobyns 6.10" and it was good rod in last 7 years.

I know this rod and it will be awesome for everyday rod.

Well for me, not true travel rods, but my two piece rods have pretty much gotten the most usage. They easily fit in my trunk. My true bass rods might see action on a long weekend but for practicality and convenience, my two piece rods are king.

I purchased a megabass triza hibali and have been using it as a  regular rod in my boat. It's a nice light rod with decent sensitivity so why not. It bends like a one piece rod with no flat areas in the blank.

I have it paired with a daiwa airity 2000S. It's a beautiful matching combo.

I also have several two piece rods that I never take apart.

I use my Shimano Convergence travel rod in my regular rotation of rods. I like it that much.

I fished a Loomis Escape hard for several years and couldn't tell the difference both on trips and at home. Just bought a St. Croix Avid trek to try out this season. Haven't had it on the water yet. I like to break them down and just throw in the truck.
